Hi All i have a peugeot bipper that has the fiat 1.3hdi engine and marelli mjd ecu and we have a problem .. fault code p1564 that will not clear and its in limp mode with eml on ,Any ideas what to do please???
 
Yes done that still same ,It comes back even before you start the engine just wont go away dont even know what it is as it says dealer code ?
 
Just searched the code.. (not commonly seen)

It came up in Italian.. so could be promising.

Related to control of HP PUMP PRESSURE.

What is your diagnostic kit describing?

What rail pressures is it showing?

I came up with: P1564

"Richiesta di riduzione alimentazione carburante da modulo di comando pompa iniezione"

"Fuel supply reduction request from the injection pump control module"
 
What would that mean then ?

To be quite honest off the top of my head I have no idea. If it were me I would be web searching with all the information available thus far.

A guess would be that your fuel rail pressure is too high and needs to be reduced. If this is the case then this may point to the fuel rail pressure regulator valve not operating correctly.

This sort of ties in with the other post suggesting "Related to control of HP PUMP PRESSURE" by varesecrazy.

What diagnostic code reader are you using? Normally only Fiat specific ones can reset the oil degredation counter.
You need to get diagnostics on the car tht can display parameters like fuel pressure and demanded pressure.

Sounds like you have a faulty fuel pressure sensor or regulator.

I refer you to my earlier question. What diagnosics are you using?If Multiecuscan, reset faults and degredation counter then force a regeneration.

I think that is the answer. The van has been used for lots of local journeys, which has not given the DPF (Diesel particulate filter) an opprtunity to regenerate. The warning light has been ignored for long enough for the DPf to become clogged, so the engine has gone stubborn and effectively shut down.

You need a diagnostic program that will do a forced regeneration of the DPF. Engine will need to be warmed up to normal operating temp, then the regen is started. Engine revs to around 2-2500 rpm for up to ten minutes, while the DPF contents are incinerated. Lots of heat produced, so bonnet up is recommended. If tail of exhaust points down, you'll melt a patch of tarmac. Quite noisy too, so first thing Sunday morning not a good idea.

There may be an instruction in the handbook for this. If so, forced regen can be initiated by sequence of pedal movements/position at restart.

If forced regen does not fix, you will need a new DPF - expensive. Do not continue to use the van until fixed.
 
It wont do a regen due to the fault code being stored .I have tried ,Even took the dpf of and flushed it clean and still the same .The ecu is locked untill i get the dtc cleared somehow
 
and fuel rail pressure is normal .Its all to do with the code locked in that wont clear
 
any help ?engine running at idle

Just replaced dpf heat sensor and still the same .Limp mode eng light on wont regen cant clear code ? Any more ideas please?
