As for handbrake, check the Discussion (under this Guide): https://www.fiatforum.com/threads/rear-drum-strip-and-clean.235078/
You have a faulty self-adjusters (bimetal strip) and/or bad cables and/or bad cable mounts (rusted and flex too much, spoiling the handbrake).

I just got this when I tried to view.

This happens to me sometimes, when it does i change browser and it'll then work. I mostly use Firefox, if that doesn't work i switch to Chrome. Which browser do you use?

Its raining here today, so i'm not going to get it up on stands. It snowed here last night but that has now gone thankfully!

So i decided to polish one of the headlamps - and it worked! Happy days :) I could hardly forget to add water to the cutting compound with the rain lol, and didn't bother to mask it up. I can well imagine without you guys i'd have been sanding the headlamp with 40 grit sandpaper, scratching it to smithereens and generally tearing my hair out while i tried to fix it.

These are the current right headlamp which has been cleaned and the left which hasn't.

The left headlamp has a bit of damage, you can see a bit of clear tape. I bought it like this and it passes the MOT with an advisory only.

I could probably get a bit more off the one thats cleaned, i can still see some residue, but is it worth it? I presume it will pass the MOT like this?
Looks great!
Can you post a picture with the label of the product you used, please.

Cures coughs, colds, sneezes, diseases.;););) Unfortunately not what you get for the man who has everything, they used to recommend Penicillin for that.😄😄😄
Got me to thinking about "Miracle Cures" from the Victorian era, like Arsenic. So you're ill and put yourself at deaths door with Arsenic, and then when you bounce back from deaths door you feel great, is that the idea?! :)

Ok, thanks. So you didn't bought anything else, just used that one. Good job it did! I'm curious how long it lasts, maybe you'll let us know...
I'm hoping i haven't removed the original sheen of the plastic, so it could remain clear for years. I'll try to remember to post back, but i'm probably only going to remember if it goes cloudy in the next week or two. :)

There are lots of old remedies that worked if used in moderation, but could be deadly. Some are still used today but in regulated Pharma fashion.
Even a few years ago it was possible to buy Kaolin and Morphine in the chemist , which if you had the "trots" (sickness and diarrhea) one spoonful would sort the problem. They took it off the market because of all the druggies.:(:(:(
I recall many years ago there was an advert for Andrews Liver Salts, roughly along the line of, "if the bottoms fallen out of your World take Andrews" to which we replied "and the World will fall out of your bo**om);););)

I did my old Punto's headlights with T cut, and elbow grease when they failed the MOT, did them a couple of times, and then sprayed them with laquer, just a quick swipe coat. (Dan at the garage suggested the laquer) and they came up a treat. Still looked great a year later when I got rid of the car.

It's my wife's birthday tomorrow, Saturday, so no car things are possible. It's raining all day Sunday so I'm not sure how much I'll get done. Oh well.

This car also has a high clutch, it might have another 1,000 miles.

My 500x needs a clutch, it's slipping in 6th gear, and has an intermittent parking brake problem.

My Evo has too many problems to list.

There's nothing like planning car maintenance in January for the year ahead eh? :) lol

The new droplink came yesterday so when it stopped raining today i decided to get that on. However getting the old one off was quite a fight and then i cross threaded the new one, so it would neither fully tighten nor come off. I'll have to get an angle grinder on it tomorrow, and buy another one 🤕 I also managed to kill a droplink on my 500X a few months ago by cross threading it.

The bottom nut did go on properly without issue. The only difference i can think of between the top and bottom is that i used an impact gun on the top and hand tightened the bottom (because i didn't have access for an impact gun). And i put copper grease on the threads, that is OK isn't it?

So my question is...how do i not cross thread droplinks when tightening them?

On a more successful note i managed to clean the other headlamp! :)

Oh, boy! That is so annoying!
I think not using the impact gun should work.
