Hi there.

So my 2006 Grande Punto failed it's MOT, with a few major defects. I'm now looking to hopefully fix the issues, and get it rebooked for another MOT.

The main ones are:

1) Sub frame corroded, both offside/nearside front.

2) Exhaust lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits.

I've been quoted £600 to replace the front subframe, and £350 to sort out the catalyst (convertor?).

Would I be able to source these items myself cheaply? Do the quotes sound about right?

Many thanks/

Hi, I have replaced the subframe on my Grande Punto- real ball ache of a job and I was lucky to have help. It took two of us allday and even then I had to go and buy new wishbone bolts after the heads had perished!! Cost me about £140 for frame off eBay- a British company that hold frames and drill holes etc where needed. I can check to see if they are still operating as it was 2 yrs ago….

As for the sensor I haven’t come across that issue so couldn’t expand unfortunately.
