CBs are defo the way forward on convoys etc, better than 2 way radios normally

I have a few rigs [one legit, one sidebander] and an old Radio Shack hand-held lying about, no idea where though - I ended up on the amateur bands so that I could use repeaters

Buy them, about £70ish all in and you can use them again and again. Nasty 2 ways from Maplin are about £35-40 I think, CBs are a bargain when you consider how much more versatile they are

I swear by the TTI 550 base as a good basic starter and it's what I use.

well ever since owning my gp my dad liked to take the Mick and say hes ggonna install one (cause he uses my car every now and then) but he has a couple of units kicking about doing nothing that's why I suggested them

Why so much? I was estimating half that :s I get avg 40mpg/350 miles tyo a tank on a long run, say a 2000 mile round trip, thats 6-7 tanks at £60ish each+ 2 jerry cans full: £420ish
Accomodation, tent and ancillaries+ Money for hostelling:£250
Food: Crate of redbull, 2x5 litres of water, Bread, beans, spam and other food that will keep for a week or 2: £60
Toll money: £50 max
Spending pennies: £150
Oil, coolant, brake fluid and spare wheel: £50 (have most already)

Ahh dammit.... just worked that out :bang:
Best get saving haha
