The missus had to leave for the hospital early this morning so we were up at 5am.
This left me creeping around the house trying not to wake up the kids.
After an hour I got bored so started quietly messing about in the kitchen and found 2 British Gas Electricity Monitors in the cupboard under the sink we've never used.
Having a mess with these things will be a quiet thing to do and wont wake the kids.
I installed the small one in my Mancave(garage) and the large one in the main electricity box out the front of our bungalow.
Mean while my youngest wakes up for a wee, on his return he see's the front door is open and promptly closes and locks it.
So I'm now locked out of my house wearing only my jogging bottoms at 6:30am.
After several attempts to wake my eldest son I give up and knock my neighbours door who lets me through their house into their back garden so I can lift a fence panel in the hope I can re enter my house via the back door that I'd left open when installing the small monitor in the Mancave.
No, my youngest had also closed and locked the back door.
I'm now a little worried as I've been locked out my own house for almost 30 minutes. Fortunately I find the toilet window open and with the help of my giggling 71 year old neighbour I eventually climb back into my house to find my kids sound asleep and my neighbour laughing his head off.
Needless to say the electricity monitors are now in the bin!
