Good evening all, I need to change the big rear bushes on the lower control arms. I have found the bushes on ebay and wondered if they could be fitted without removing the whole lower arm assembly. The van is a 2005 2.0 JTD Ducato. Any help regarding this would be really helpful as the noise is driving me crazy.

All the best Tony

Well I bit the bullet, ordered the replacement bushes and went for it. Good news is you can replace the bushes in situ. the retaining bolts for the bush assembly are extremely hard to break. Once the bolts are out, the bush slides off the end of the lower arm. However, the hard bit is alligning the smaller bolt through the bush assembly and into the captive nut. If patience is not your thing don't bother, as this part took over an hour to get right. There is real danger of damaging the thread if your not careful.

Thanks for the heads up, very useful to know that this job can be done without removing the arms.

But hope I won't ever need to do this; presumably it was a MOT fail?
