Still on bracket replacement duty at the mo. Below is the front headlight set and power steering cooler mounts that I picked up from Fiat today. I found that you can polish the new mounts up and then give them a lacquer coat to stop the rust and protect the nice shine. :)

Good work Doc,

I know how tedious a job things like this are. Try out the AUTOSOL metal polish, worked a treat on the clips and boot stay. (y)

 now I know why those Italians always wear sunglases, sooo bright.
Fancy a drive to Cardiff on 4th off april to show your car
I'll be there for lunch, greetz Mark.

Sorry SF I will be out of the UK then but I look forward to meeting you at some point soon. Fingers crossed we will have another Barchetta meet real soon that a load more people will attend. (y)

I would love a drive to the UK, my sister lives near Pool and there are some great roads for driving. UK is terrible if you need to expedite, but great for touristic driving...sorry about that. Not that our traffic jams help. But the roads in the UK are just made for the B.
Not a bad idea to organise a trip in the uk, either from the tunnel or via the ferry, any suggestion where the route should go ?

You are right, there are some great road's in the UK and some horrid motorways! I drove from Calais to Perpignan last year and could not believe how much better the French motorway's are, lots of services, well laid surfaces etc.....

As for the UK, you should make a trip - depending how long you are over for depends where you can visit (also depends if you want to see your sis or not!!).....

Dorest, Devon, Cornwall have some great roads and fantastic scenery, equally if you fancy heading 'up North' the lakes, moors, highlands etc are breathtaking!!

Defo make a trip over though, let us know what you would like to see and I am sure we will all have an opinion of where you should visit and what route you should take!! (y)

What started out as just fitting the HID headlight kit install has grown into a full front resto project heheh

I have replaced all the brackets with nice new polished ones and also removed all the little bits of rust that had just started to take hold around the front. I have spent today giving the front crossmember a new lick of paint and just have the clear to do. Once this is finished I have a few things I want to paint red and then I can start putting it all back together.

OK so you will not see 90% of all this once the bumper is back on but it should keep the rust away for a good five or six more years. :D:)

this car is looking cleaner then new Doc (i sell new cars some arent this clean:eek:), this thread always gives me a idea of something to have a go at with the B one day.

talking of which way back when you had a battery in the engine bay you gave the battery tray a bit of a refurb. Mine is pretty rusty, is it easy? when you disconnect the battery does it effect the imobiliser or is it a simple as reconnecting once you are done? thanks :)

Battery trays rot on every Barchetta and after a while it starts to eat the mounting plate that the tray sits on. Removing the battery is as easy as you say and I have had mine out of the car for almost two weeks before. (y)

You will need:

Dremel
Spanners.
Loctite Rust Remedy
Hammerite paint (black smooth)
Copper grease
Small paint brush

Takes about two hours work.

Is it OK if I park my B in your garage for a few weeks? I'm sure you could find one or two small things to change, paint, fix, etc. :) Your B is soo good looking that I don't really want to read this thread

Btw., do you have a link to the bulbs that you've bought (I take it they're off eBay)?

Totally amazing. This must inspire everyone. Doc's B is so spotless that you could eat dinner off it - if you really wanted to.

How does the bumper come off? Is it fairly easy? I have to replace an indicator as it has a crack in the plastic.
