General Do so many Panda threads need to be relocated?

I'll just jump in to say I did get your messages, but I'm on vacation at the moment and really not in a fit state to respond in any useful way (y)

Back next week - keep your suggestions coming and I'll check over them all when I get back.

Though remember about the Mm threads, they appear in the "MM" bar at the top, so shouldnt be getting lost anywhere...

thou to some of the punto bits where its like a club 18-30 holiday on E

:ROFLMAO:

Sorry Jim, but that made me laugh because it is so true

Because they fell they'll be pushed aside, ignored!

We have been once, when all the big changes like eBay thread happened! Although on that occassion I think it was for our best and did work well (y)

But it feels like the same is happening this time, but it isn't working :(

But Ben listened to your grievances and then made changes based upon your feedback. He DOES listen and will make changes if it's workable, but as per earlier in this thread there were the posts that everyone was unhappy about but no-one actually reported them...

I suppose the issue lies with the speed of the changes and the uncertainty it brings for the dinosaur posters like myself not used to it all. Organising is good, but not at the expense of free talking which after all is what any forum should be principally about IMO. I have only just got my head around where my subsequent posts should go. If I was a new member, it would be carnage for my posts.

Overall I do agree with organisation of information, but I believe the price is that some people won't quite know whether their post is welcome, so won't post at all.

There's no point in me bringing this up with anyone official at the FIAT Forum as I do understand the need to organise such a big forum and bring us in line with other sections as that's what the management of a forum would want to do. This is just an opportunity to make my feelings known. This change is inevitable.

Lewey has hit the nail on the head here I feel, particularly about the speed of the changes upsetting the oldschool members who were content with the old system.

I do disagree though that there's no point in bringing anything up with the mods. As mentioned above, they do listen and Ben WILL make changes if it's for the better. Also, all posts are welcome just that some have to be moved if put in the wrong place.

Bloomin' hell, I'm debating all this and I'm not even a mod! :p

i cant see a report on the thread

nor me, some support for the new section mod an letting them know of a mistake by report or pm would be better than an attack thread..

as much as there is a few that think all the offtopic stuff should be left in cp section, there is equal or a greater number who now avoid the section all together because its got more crap than LL

The new mod has a very hard job of allowing enought to keep some happy and getting rid of the rest to keep the rest happy. try some support and guidence instead of attack all the time

excuse spelling spell checker is broke :(

:yeahthat:

Theres build threads in cento and uno section i know of, both have adequate mods so why do they not get moved?

one thing pops up in here and its jumped on straight away, just relax abit and see what develops of the thread, it could turn into tech stuff no1 wants to read apart from knowledgable blokes in here.

What do you think we're doing here? This isn't suppost to be as an attacj thread.

A qeustion was asked, and it's developed into a decussion Dave, Not attack, as I and others have said got no problem with Charlotte.

No one is picking on Charlotte!

She's only following FF rules and that's what we have an issue with so stop stirring it:p

:yeahthat:

And discussing them in a thread like this keeps everything out in the open and people will hopfully fell they can talk in this thread if they've not wanted to speak out - PM anyone for what ever reason.

its not how it looks, its clearly set out in the rules that everyone agreed to when they signed up,

from rules said:
Public posts debating these rules and/or moderators' enforcement of such, will be removed without comment. We encourage feedback however and invite you to use our help desk if you have any questions or concerns.

But with the project threads, feedback from other members who know the cars is so useful. My car for one is an ongoing project, but when milestones are reached then i do update my members motors thread. I do like people to look at it, and comment on the car but I don't expect them to sift through my ramblings about how i'm going to line up the alternator, or what size fuel hose etc etc I'm thinking about using. In the same way, if i was looking in members motors at someones GP then I'd want to look at a brief run down of what the car was about, not scroll through x pages of x updates to find out what has been done. Just a summary of the car, with a link to build thread at the end. My members motors thread reflects how this.
Points very well made arc. This is exactly how I view my members motors thread, I update it with summaries from some of my other threads.

FFS Dave, this is all just going around in bloody circles now!

Stop trying to avoid the issue, as I said in a post before, eventually it will get to a case where everyone says **** it!

I know several people have already!

One min your on about feedback (which we're trying to give!) and then another our saying we should buggar off if we don't like it, which is what is starting to happen which is beginning to ruin the bloody section!

maybe they not duplicate threads? there are also build threads in members motors,
if a person starts a thread in one section it makes sence to keep that one up dated, an not make a new one in a totaly seperate section, other wise people following the original will miss updates.

just out of interest mods, before this thread goes away, was anyone actually complaining before all the changes. There's been a lot of grumbling over the last couple of months or so that we never saw in public before. What prompted the crackdown?
obviously if we were upsetting or alienating other users fair enough but if the aim was just to get us to visit other areas of the forum, well for me at least it's not worked. I still only come to the Panda section and there's just less interesting stuff on it:(
Andrew.

yes. people have left and told me its because the whole section turned in to a private little club for a handful of people who think what is happpenng in their lives is more important than panda chat.

also people in other sections who are belive it or not intrested in pandas was asking how come they had to stick to the forum rules but others did not.
