Coronavirus - The Thread :(

That's a daily mail link you may as well quote the beano or dandy :ROFLMAO:

The virus running around Wuhan last September is covered elsewhere. The DM are never first in line with any genuine sleuthing. They also forget to mention that bats, pangolins, snakes or whatever are supposed to be involved are all hibernating when the virus was alleged to have been released.

However DM is new on the news that Bat Woman researcher gave out warnings in 2018. The article does not define the warnings she gave and just like the medical whistle-blowers she has since vanished.

Before they were shut down by CCP, Chinese virologists from Shanghai said the bat virus base of CV-19 was collected form the wild in 2018 by the Chinese military. These same virologists released the CV-19 viral genome code to international academia back in January. They were immediately closed down and told to destroy all samples. They have all been silent ever since.

There is a whole world of specialists and researchers looking at this virus every day and the consensus amongst the actual experts is this virus has not come from a lab and early incidents of the virus happened many miles from the labs being blamed.

The only once’s pushing the man made or accidental release story are trump and terrible news papers looking to increase their readership through shock and awe

Dont think the common cold was worthy of the front page today ;)

I dont get the connection i meant on the forum not nationally,
But people with serious health problems avoiding hospitals is very worrying. It means a lot that could have been saved will be too advanced to save now and them that could still be treated will end up all needing treatment at the same time.

Got my mri i cancelled re-booked for the end of the month, think i will risk it this time, but still worried, news says covid is isolated to certain parts of the hospitals away from everyone else, but we have a ff friend who lost their nan to it in hospital and she did not have it when she went in. so not sure the news is reporting the truth:confused:

Considering weve been 'Isolated' for 7 weeks its amazing the viral symptoms still 'doing the rounds' up here

Still get the stuff I had for the 1st time in Feb.. and coughs..chills etc.. are obviously circulating

The more you read of the 'symptoms' of Covid.. (and it can last longer than 1st predicted)

Gone from a short list to a fairly long one.. you do wonder if half of us have already been exposed to it

As for the health infrastructure testing at Sewage farms to gauge the level of infection per area.. doesnt allay fears we are not exposed in our own homes

I might have a slanted perspective.. as round here we had accellerated covid testing due to Staff passing it around the area.. before it was due to be here.

It'll all be revealed at some stage..
All you can do is be sensible and minimise the risks :)

I know some Heathboards are basically clearing their calendars..

If you dont get a letter next week confirming your appointment.. its gone..!!
you need to contact GP and rebook.. see you at Xmas.. :(

Its a bloody conspiracy they knew about this in 1962 and that we wont have a vaccine for it in 2022

HELP Jock,

from an out-of-UK point of view, all three or four previous posts means nothing ! I'm absolutely sure it's savourous so please explain us foreigners ...

BRs, Bernie

So what's the word on the street when the lockdown might be removed / plans for everything to be back to normal?

I've been running around different offices all day to try and find out what options I have, but without getting a number of documents sent from the UK (from offices which are currently closed) - it looks like I will have to leave here when my visa is up in July.

That's not too bad, I'm due a trip home anyway - but the bad bad bad news is I won't be allowed back into Taiwan until the UK is deemed as safe....

I'll try Bernie.

First off and the one that interests me the most. The Ariel Leader was a small capacity (250cc) twin cylinder two stroke motor cycle, made by Ariel Motorcycles in Birmingham, which I always thought made a lovely noise - even to this day:

In my youth I always wanted the stripped down sporty version which was called the Arrow:

A lot of purists didn't recon them because they had a pressed steel frame, not tubing like a "real" bike - but then along came Honda with the 250 Dream and the rest is history - or so they say:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4U50L5bgSo

After all the British bikes with their 360 degree crankshafts (both pistons going up and down together like No 1 and 4 on an in line 4 cyl car engine so the exhaust beat is really even, the Honda, with it's 180 degree crank (with pistons behaving like No 1 and 2 on an in line 4 so one up and one down), so it fires 1,2, pause - 1,2, pause just sounded "wrong" - soon got used to it though. At least the British bikes had their gear selector in the "right place" - I've still never really got used to changing gear with my left foot and braking with my right. Of course the 180 degree crank reduced vibration enormously when compared to the old British bikes which were famous for literally shaking themselves to pieces. you needed a pocket full of spanners to tighten things up with if you were doing any more than just a local trip! - Oil leaks were also a standard feature and you had to be careful where you parked it if you wanted to avoid someone getting cross with you over the mess..

The Beano and Dandy were illustrated cartoon style boy's magazines. There were tales or daring do and young lads doing slightly naughty things! They were compulsory reading if you wanted to be "one of the boys". There's lots of stuff on Google about them, even got their own Wikipedia pages.

The Eagle was for slightly older boys. I seen to remember my sister getting the "Girl"? - but would never have admitted to looking at it! The main character was Dan Dare: http://www.dandare.com/eagle-comic.htm who was always in conflict with a nasty wee alien called the Mekon, a super brain who ruled the Treens who lived on venus. They always had pictures of wonderful very elegant space ships. The whole thing allowed me to escape mentally from the daily drudge of the boarding schools my parents packed me off to "for my own good".

I'm not sure why but I don't remember Warlord?

This all brings back memories of being in the dormitory at school, hiding under the bedclothes, after lights out when we were all supposed to be asleep, with a torch, reading about the adventures of Dan Dare and later reading stuff like Heinlein's "Starship Troopers", EE Smith's "Lensman" series and William Dietz "War World" - Halcyon days indeed!
