Tuning Coilover kit built for 500... Will it fit for panda 100hp??

post #2 in this thread has a link with the answer u r looking for (y)

So basically yes it will if you have the full set up?

I have just managed to get the shocks and coils from an abarth 500 for a tenner, so would need hubs as well as discs and calipers I would imagine?

Post 2 is theory from what I can see and no-one has actually done it, hence why I asked again.

See what confuses me here is that the shocks fit the same or at least appear to have matching fittings and as they are straight how would They throw the geometry out? It's using panda mounts and pick ups etc...

Does any body know what the track is on the two cars, can only see width on Internet

Looks like i completely forgot about this forum! Shame on me!

So i went ahead and mounted the KW V1 for a Fiat 500 on my panda. And these are my findings:
-The Kit bolts right on to the panda, all the mounting places are exactly the same.
-The only thing that is NOT the same, is the break hose holder plate. The holder is about 2cm further outwards on the panda, giving your break hoses more clearance.

I drove around like that for about 6 months without problems, but eventually the the break hose broke. And thats pretty scary... So now i'm experimenting with some solutions.

So the moral of the story is: It will fit, no problem there, just DO NOT use the stock mounting holes for the break hoses. even using a ziptie or so will be better/safer.

Hope this helps, and gets rid of the confusion once and for all.

See post 2. Lewey knows what he's talking about....

Has he actually done the modification though as it was all very much "this might happen and you might need this..."

I'm not being funny but it's not exactly helpful to keep saying "see post 2" when I actually asked further questions as post 2 didn't answer them!

It's a really unfriendly way to behave to honest questions, besides whether Lewey knows what he is doing or not is irrelevant if his post didn't answer the question/s I asked.

Thanks to the chap who did answer and now I know to use cable ties not the clips.

You will notice that the person doesn't appear to have changed hubs and other such things which is what Lewey suggested......

At worst if you change hubs you might need to also buy some 500 brake pipes too as they'll probably be longer.

A change to braided hoses, and using a cable tie would be the solution.

Yes Lewey suggested using hubs as well, but like I said earlier his post doesn't answer the questions I had about width of track and geometry etc. he also didnt say "don't do it your brake hoses will break" did he? Which suggests he hasn't done it himself. He might of done, I might be wrong.

Do you have any experience of this yourself 306maxi?

As i said earlier, the fit is perfect. the geometry of your front-end does not change, even the anti roll-bar mounts are exactly the same. If you want to be 100% correct you should have your car aligned every time you change the ride hight. But thats the way it is even if you buy the correct coil overs.

By the way, i even got the Belgian KW importer to send me a validation document (needed in belgium for yearly technical inspection) for the panda, with the Fiat500 part number on it. It clearly says "Fiat Panda" and has the fiat 500 part number on it.

Does anyone know where i can get braided break hoses for the panda? This is something i have been looking for and haven't been lucky finding.

Thanks guys.

The last time I used braided brake pipes was on a very hot Uno turbo ie - had to have them made up by a specialist but that's the best way anyway. Also improved the pedal as braided lines give less than the standard ones.

I ve got Goodridge stainless steel braided hose kit on my panda cost me 79 pound for the kit. Can look the product number up if u want.

I have Goodridge SS hoses on my supercharged MX5 and track car, and would definately recommend them.

Would be interested in the product no too! (y)

Right, I'm home! YAY! :D

I bought a Goodridge stainless braided brake hose kit

Application: Fiat Panda 2wd 1982-on
Part Number: SFT0245-4C

here are the links I used when searching for this kit before, Took a while as its was not easy to determine which were for late or early panda or which were stainless steel fittings or zinc. I wanted to go with Stainless Steel fittings. Last longer.

Hope this helps guys! (y)

Sounds weird to me... The kit should fit the old model panda, and the 169? How will that work? I'm pretty sure these two cars are quite different :)

Thats the problem I had, non of the kits made sense to me, same with these 2 links, one says old panda and zinc fittings other says just panda and stainless fittings. But both have same part number, thats what u have to look for - SFT0245 - 4C

The older model Panda part number is SFT0240-4P/4C
169 shape Panda part number will be SFT0245-4P/4C

Then - 4P is for Zinc Fittings and - 4C for Stainless Steel Fittings for both kits.

This is what I found out after contacting few sellers and Goodridge in the end. (y)
