Fiats tend to refuse to release properly before they slip, so it could be a gearbox oil leak. But either way the clutch as to come out.

Don't forget to check the gearbox input shaft. Any bearing slack needs a rebuild as the seal will soon fail and gears wont select properly.

If it's an HGT, also whip off the gearbox back cover and clean it out. Any clag in there affects gear selection.

Drive it up the road. If its slipping at gearshifts it wont make it.

If its not slipping and less than 100 miles with no traffic its worth a try. Hopefully you have AA/Greenflag/RAC/etc and can afford the hassle if it fails on the way.

I wouldnt risk it. You may fook the flywheel.

Book it in & use the train. Or dont go (you may need the rail fare if the box is leaking).
