cheap dash cam?

Seller obviously doesn't like the footage I sent when the cam was plugged into the jump starter pack...
Hi,dear friend.
We had download the video and see it.

Would you mind use the External power source (5 V)then try it again?

if you use the 12 v,it may be damage the Car DVR recorder.

Dear frined, thank you for your great understanding on this matter all the time and we'll solve this issue ASAP.
Any problems pls e-mail to us,we're all here with you.
Have a nice day!

As I said in my reply, the cam was plugged into the jump starter using the ONLY plug supplied with the cam - the one you plug into the power outlet on the car - the one designed to take 12v.
I don't have anything that puts out 5v

Hardly fit for purpose if you have to have a seperate power supply then.

TBF to the bloke, he's only trying to rule out how the machine is picking up interference - HOWEVER, if I were in his position, I would be opening a new camera & trying it in my own car to see if I get the same result (seeing as how not everyone seems to be having the fault). If it's also dodgy, I could then say to the customer - yes, I'm having the same fault, if you can hang on a while I'll try to find a cure (& point out how long they have to put in a claim with paypal).
If it's working OK then I would send it straight away, give my customer a tracking number & ask them to package their faulty cam ready for return, Maybe ask if they want a new memory card in lieu of return postage.

I think I have got the attention of the manufacturer (or someone taking the p***).
Another comment on the test vid then I get an email...
Thank you for sharing us the Video you recorded, we should say it looks so nice on the view before uploading to Youtube.
Your video is very helpful for us!
We would like upload more videos from Customers, and make the channel for customers to share and comment, we can listen from customers for new development and improving.
Your video is the first one we will upload, it starts from you!
Thank you!

I replied, pointing out the crap audio, and adding two more links, the additional test vid plus a third (made private, for the seller, after running with the cam plugged into my 12v jump start pack (they suggested a UPS)).
By return I got...
Sorry to hear that!
We are the producer and well notice this issue.
We suppose it is the mic issue, now working on that.
We strive to make high resolution and the best Video quality, did not notice this issue before.
We should keep you updated for what we are doing from here
Still hope you can enjoy it and have fun!

Another email...

so sorry my late reply.
We had write the Power Input:DV 5V in the ad listing.
Would you mind use the power cable or external power source
like 12 v change to 5 v ?
Waiting for your reply soon.
Best regards!

I replied ...
the listing might say 5v but it also says CAR dashcam. ALL cars run 12v.
The ONLY powercord supplied with the product is designed for a CAR 12v socket.
So either the cord drops the voltage from 12 to 5 OR the cam can run on 12v.
I rounded off my email by saying "I DO NOT HAVE A 5V SUPPLY".
Tomorrow, I'm getting onto paypal, powerdigital 898 is a joke.

Gotta have this one lol

Trouble is, that's such a huge box to stick to your screen - and why the F... put the lens in the middle of a big, red square? Makes it stand out to tempt the scumbags.
That would be better if both front & rear lens were remote & the box could be mounted elsewhere.

But you will capture a women's heart!

Already got one thanks - I keep it in a coolbox in the cellar

Another email from the seller this morning...

Hi,dear friend.
Terribly so sorry my late reply.
pls do not worry,We'll have a new fw to solve this issue.
We'll send it to your e-mail address after we test it well.
Have a nice day!
Rita

Looking forward to the new fw (whatever that is!).

I just wish they'd sort the problem out, maybe if they sorted out the firmware?

Saw that one a while back. The only problem I can see (just from the ad) is those remote lenses are HUGE - and yet the ones on the box are tiny!

I ASQ the seller to find out what the story was, they said something about the small ones not capturing sound but the large ones do ?
(So put the F*****g mic in the dvr then, jeez, got the brains to develop a complicated DVR yet fail to see the bleedim' obvious!)
And it is the large lenses that we would be getting.

Dr32 has a firmware update now that sorts the sound by and large

Yeah, for some.
I got the email at half past one & have spent the past hour or so trying to get the machine to upgrade.
Everything goes well until I press the menu & up buttons - then all my camera does is to scroll through the options - as if the up key overrides the menu key!
I tried pressing the two together, tried menu/up, tried up/menu. I put the update before the DCIM file, I've put it in the file, I even put a copy on each screen.
Damned thing just doesn't want to know

OK, so how was I supposed to know that you can't simply insert a .rar file into the SD card & expect it to work?
Still, never mind. Got it all sorted(y)

And the original

Same bit of road, same rpm, same speed & same settings on the camera.

Just wish youtube would sort their software out to stop this damned 'squashing' of the clips.

Just ordered the Lukas LK-9000 ACE:

http://lukashd.com/eng/product_info/blackbox_14_1.html

Luckily SWMBO is

Better tell her that it was £40 else.. her: Ahhhh me: :dead:

It's basically the dog's dangly bits.. just like e.g the Finvue CR-500HD / Chillibongo CB-100HD but half the price. Some owners are reporting that the image is even better than those cameras.

Has official English firmware (with English voice that tells you what it's doing), manual and software available.

BTW chaps, I'd deffo avoid the DR32 for now.

The seller is a joke.

And those multiple eBay usernames - powergps, hxelpro360, powerdigital898 etc.. all the same people and they are a complete pain in the arse.

Got to wait until Wed to refer my case to eBay to get my $100 back; you're supposed to work it out with the seller over the course of 8 days first.
