What Variant?

If Active then no, it never had Remote Central Locking, only Central Locking operated from the drivers door. There isn't a lock motor in the drivers door on these either.

If anything else then it'll have had remote central locking from new.

You can either get a remote key from a main dealer, but this'll probably be cost prohibitive.

Alternatively you can get a used one off of eBay, programme it yourself to the remote system of your car using MultiECUscan software, and you'll also need your cars code card / data which'll cost you circa £15+VAT from a main dealer.

2004 that’s a very early Panda. If the rear hatch needs a key to unlock it and doesn’t just pull up when you unlock the drivers door then probably not. Not a 100% test as the micro switch can go faulty.

Generally 17 year old cars aren’t improved by spending money. As alway there are exceptions

Uk cars started late 2003..
O.P. is in mainland Europe so potentially a year earlier

We had a march 2004 uk reg Active..

That spec was later badged 'Dynamic'

And then FIAT removed a lot of the nice touches of those early pandas and badged it Active..

Agree.. it it only has the 1 doorlock you might struggle

Active was Active since introduction in 2003. From mid 2004 they removed some of the items fitted to the early Actives though, such as locking fuel cap, Aux power outlet for satnavs etc. Sisters 2004 (31/04/2004 registered) Active was lucky enough to have these. All the Active models had black plastic none painted bumpers until circa 2009 when the Active Eco came about and the specs all changed a bit. The Dynamics always had colour coded bumpers.

I liked the early Dynamics as there were 4:
Dynamic
Dynamic Sounds
Dynamic Aircon
Dynamic Skydome

Each of the later 3 coming with either of those options as standard, and was cheaper than getting a Dynamic and just adding say AC or a Skydome as an option.

the kits are the motorised door locks just fit one into the drivers door and the hatch for full central locking

Having fitted those kits to a Mk2 Panda, you need locking rods to connect those motors to. The design of the Mk3 Panda doesn't incorporate these so using those motors won't easily be possible.

At a push you may be able to get a Drivers door lock unit with a motor within it from a scrapper and fit that and try and get the central locking system working on a remote system, if you tap into the canbus lock and unlock signal cables within the drivers door loom. Easy if you know how, but depends on someones compitency.

depending on your ability you can make anything work

even having the car remotely unlock, pop the doors open and start by a Bluetooth watch

however to get a car which wasn't designed for remote locking to work will require skill, time and money.

fitting a third party kit will require cutting, drilling, fabrication and planning.

you will need both mechanical and electrical/electronic skills.
