Hey guys,

So my '04 Panda 1.2 Active had the remote key stolen. I have one non working remote key and one working non remote key but leaving the same locks and keys working is not an option as the stolen key would still work on the car.

My question is if I buy a new set of locks and keys is it possible to reprogram the new keys and inutilize the stolen key? Would I be able to do this on multiecuscan? I still have the key code card.

Appreciate any help, having some trouble finding info on this subject.

Is it possible

Yes

But MultiECUscan is limited, can only add a key that already been pre programmed, it can not pre program a key, I believe fiat charge around £500 for a preprogrammed key, cut key, that still needs adding

When adding a new key any not present at the same time became permanently black listed, unusable

The cheapest know working DIY route to pre programmed remote key is

Which for a one off is a little dearer than getting an auto lock smith to do one, if you shop around £250ish is possible

Thanks for the advice.

I'm not in the UK, forgot to say the car is in Portugal.

So I guess a used set of locks and keys will not work?

Even if the key gets blacklisted it will still be able to open the car, that is my issue.
I am considering the possibility of the chip on my non working remote key still being functional, it unlocks the car but does not turn on the engine, so I could change the chips to new keys but then I would have to blacklist the stolen key so it cannot remotely open the car.

From a breaker car

ECU
Body computer
Key barrels, including the passenger airbag switch

As a set

Will just swap over

Often the cheapest way, under £100 with 1 key no remote

Under £150 with remote are typical

Just match the ECU part number there's been several version, updates to the engine

You can put the upgraded dynamic dash into an active but to use the trip computer you need to change the right stalk also for one with the button

Unfortunately it would be hard to find those parts in Portugal, at least for a decent price.
I can buy a used set of locks with one remote key, is it possible to change the transponder from a normal key to a remote one?

The transponder in a manual key

Tiny about 12 x 6 x 3mm

It can be cut out, don't loose it

The remote is different and is an IC chip on PCB

Remove the PCB and glue the transponder instead of, works

Thanks for the help.

I have currently a non remote key that works and a remote key that does not start the car, hopefully the issue is just the transponder coil and if so:
I will buy a set of used locks that comes with one remote key,
Change the internals of the remote keys or change the blades
Have a new non remote keyed and change the transponder from the old one

After this, from what I understand, I can blacklist the missing remote on MES, is that correct?

PCB get cracked same place

Long shot, but is a fairly common fault
I will open the key and check it out, thank you.
The car is not with me right now as I'm abroad and I found out some work was done, from what I was told it still has the same barrels but they changed the mechanical code, is this possible? New keys were made but the remote key is not original Fiat and is not yet programmed for the remote.
Also, the same technician supposedly blacklisted the missing remote key so I guess the one I have was also blacklisted... I will check it in a couple of days.
