Bravo faults - the BIG list

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 2000 Marea 1.6 SX Weekend

On the note of this thread though, I'm reluctant to post that I've had no major problems with my 2000 V reg 155 HGT (has that put the mocha's on it or what)
Had it for a year and 4 months, got 66k on the clock, regularly serviced, just sailed through its second MOT.
I knew I shouldn't have posted this, something is bound to go wrong now.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 2000 Marea 1.6 SX Weekend

Whats nice to see is guy who provoked this thread by claiming the fuel guage was a common fault never bothered to list his faults.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Bravo faults - the BIG list

00' 80sx 22,000

Rear wiper ceased
Eratic idling, replaced throttle body/potentiometer
Retardedly slow passenger window, yt works perfectly fine from the passenger side switch?!!
At the minute rediculously poor fuel economy, 60 miles to a tenner
strange ticking noise from front drivers side in engine #

All in all not as bad as it could be

We knew they had their little imperfections when we bought them

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Bravo faults - the BIG list

1999 1.2 80SX bought at 6k miles now 79K miles
8K poor idling/stalling so idle stepper motor changed and ecu remap
15K rear washer pipe disconnects. cured with cable ties
30K clutch thrust bearing gone so new clutch assembly
38K Both front shockers leaking. replaced
50k timing belt and tensioner changed (normal servicing)
55k new battery
70k Hesitation flat spots - oxygen sensor replaced
Amazingly good fuel consumption improvement steadily from awful 270miles per tank to 390miles/tank
79k boot lock just jammed

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Bravo faults - the BIG list

Okay W 2000 Bravo SX TD75
Had it since last june, sailed through it's 1st MOT. No real problems at all just water hose on rear wiper keeps falling off, obviously needs a bit of glue and yesterday the rear wiper began to make a sort of click noise just as it beggins a swipe.

Other than that it's been fine (touch wood).

Cheers
Martin L. ;)

Remember, no chit-chat, just the history of your bravo/a.

Fiat Bravo 1.2 sx '99 V Reg
bought at 20021 miles, now at 21700 miles.

Faults:
Literally a week after purchasing it,
Grinding between 1st-2nd and 3rd-2nd gear
(due to clutch/2nd gear syncromesh wearing out thanks to previous biddy owner riding clutch/driving around everywhere in 2nd gear, still not sorted due to lack of funds/unsure what to do.)

circa 21000 miles,
Unusual wear on front passenger side tire, outside tread of tire has gone yet wheel is balanced/tracked.
(unknown explanation although it was kinda showing when I first got car just not as bad.)

Temp Gauge started to flick all the way to the top really quickly and back down again scaring the **** out off me. when you sat stationary it would sit there and rev its self.
(unknown, but maybe a dirty/loose connection somewhere. has since gone away and is functioning normally)

until recently,
No go/pull in 4th and 5th gear at all.
(ECU remapped by nige at angel tuning, now running sweet)

Other than that, all is well.

Dan
