Blue & Me - Tech Info and questions and answers

Hi!

I'm trying to update my 159 Ti (bought on January 2008) Blue&Me but I'm having some problems. I'm trying to update to 5.4 v11 (using this file h**p://195.88.6.195/test/download/blue&me/5_4_11_Up_Date_Package_Signed.zip replace * with 't') and I got an error at the very beginning. In the car display appears "ERROR USB 10".

I put my pendrive again in the PC and a file named Log.txt appeared with this content:



I tried two pendrives:

• Kingston 2GB (with FAT16 and FAT32, I tried both)
• Aqua 128MB (with FAT16 and FAT32, I tried both)

Does someone know what's happening?

You have to extract the files first before loading them on to a pen drive.

I didn't mention it, but I extracted them in my pendrive and they're not into any folder:

just thought i'd try and offer my advice, i too was having problems with the usb error 10 message on a fat 32 4gb freecom pen drive, i read a few posts to try and fix to no gain till i tried the following, dont know whether this fixed it or was coincedence. make sure it is not a quick format but full format of the drive just in case also be aware if u arent there is the new 5.4.11 version out.

i read that you arent supposed to copy/drag and drop but actually 'move' the files to the pen drive. if u have vista open the folder where your files are, providing u dont already have the menu bar listed press 'alt' to show it then go to edit > move to folder then wait for the move.

the next thing i did was open the install.inf file and took note of the order the files were listed as to which would be opened first. i changed the order of the files on the pen drive to that in the list and had file '82UP' at the bottom. close the install.inf file then remove pen drive.

i took to car, put pen drive in, key in ignition, turn to MAR position and then said outloud repeatedly, 'please dont fail' just for luck, low and behold it worked

be aware though when it says updating the radio will come back on and the updating message will disappear, dont take this as completed, just sit and wait, dont touch ANYTHING in the car, after approx 5 minutes i had the 'update complete' visual and audible message.

once u have that you're done.

dunno whether this will work but this is what i did.

No luck with any of ther updates - tried all of the above tricks and wife is getting suspicious of me sitting in the car!

Problem fixed

After much flaffing about with Error 10 messages, usb sticks etc


A new trick, I deleted all my user data (settings>user data> clear all) and hey presto! update to 5.4.11 worked straight away

using the USB for music....i have probably 200 songs all in MP3 format. However, when I listen to the music, only some of the songs are played and also are repeated alot...very frustrating, is there a setting I need to change?

Make sure you have Autoplay set to OK or YES. You find the Autoplay setting in the settings menu of the Media Player

Hi,
Blue and me only seems to pick up songs on my 16gb usb upto "S" in the library. I have tried deleting some tracks, assuming it just couldnt handle that many tracks but whatever I do I just cant seem to get beyond S! I'm not sure if this is a fault or not but I want to listen to Tracy Chapman, Underworld and Wu Tang Clan! Can anyone help? Thanks

I have just bought my second Panda, a 100hp which I adore. The Bluetooth connection is factory fitted and unfortunately is not compatible with my new Nokia. All the models shown in the booklet on the Bluetooth connection are years out of date and unobtainable. There must be another list somewhere, if not can anybody help with advice?
The car is a 2009 model registered on 31/1/09

Hi guys, really hope someone out there can help me as I am totally at end of my patience with Blue and me - which cannot seem to be connected up with my phone, a Nokia 8800 Arte e-1, for the message reading function. The mechanics at my local dealership seem to be floundering and in the dark... although 8800 is listed as a compatible phone and the Nokia website indicates sms reader as one of the phone's functions.... PLEASE advise what can be done to sort it out... it is such a great system, or would be if it worked - but on long journeys, am disappointed to be unable even to receive alert of a text, let alone have them read out. Also, seem to have a problem with the i pod nano - it seems to freeze when I try to go up or down the tracks, ie skip some, and zero volume is the result. Also, at the beginnign of any journey, the media library needs to be rebuilt.... HELP PLEASE

I have a Fiat Bravo, and I have got a very annyoing problem with the Blue&Me: it works only when the engine is on. When I stop the engine, the Blue&Me is turning off, so I cannot play music from my USB stick for example when I'm waiting in the car for somebody.
(This time the radio and the CD player works well)

Is there any solution to use the Blue&Me without a running engine?

I had the same problem, cured it by disconnecting the battery earth lead for 15 minutes. All ok after that.

needs new microphone,my wife's new 500 has had 2 replaced since new in December,common fault.

Hi guys. Is there a way to make blue&me play the tracks in order? I've switched loop and shuffle off, but it still plays the tracks in random order.
