General back in the market - 2002-on Ducato

Hi,
as my old Ducato is up for sale,

see classifieds/ ebay ad

I'm looking to get a van equipped with Cruise Control,

thanks to 3 years perusing this column I'm fairly well clued-up,
(my budget being the biggest constraint),

anybody selling.. do let me know,
Charlie - Oxford

Possibly easier to fit cruise control to a van you like than find one you like at the right price with cruise control.

It sill bastically fit anything with a throttle cable. You put magnet on driveshaft and when you set the cruise control it pull the throttle to maintain the rpm.

As the 2002 onwards Ducatos are fly by wire throttle control, the magnet on the throttle cable cruise controls won't work, as there is no throttle cable.
It was fairly easy to fit cruise control onto my 2004 Ducato. I used a small plastic project box mounted just to the right of the steering wheel. It has an on/off switch and three push buttons for +, - and recall, just like the Fiat one. It is no big problem to connect in, using the ECU wiring diagram. I had to fit in an additional wire from the ignition +12 volts and another wire to the brake pedal switch. Total cost about £6 and it works exactly like the original Fiat system. I did a fair bit of posting about it some time back, so I'll see if I can find some of those posts about it if you like. I still have the circuit diagram with the wire colour codes to look for, if that helps. The plug from the ECU loom that you want to connect to is in the passenger side fusebox area, under the grey plastic cover held in by two screws.
