Another Newbie

Hi, I've just bought myself a seicento sporting as i was bored senseless with my eurobox for the drive to work and back each day. I pick the little fella up this weekend. I heard a rumour that cinq and sei drivers flash and wave at each other when passing, is this true? If so I haven't experienced this since my student days in a beetle, it'll be a refreshing change to not being noticed on the road !!

welcome to the forum, i owned a sei for 18months, but the only people to flash at me had blue lights on the top of thier cars

How is your car? I have had various stories of unreliability and cold starting problems, not what I need! On the other hand I've heard that it can be one of the best cars to own for little cost and fun.

know the feeling altho i nod with respect when i see another broom yellow cinqi, will have sore neck at fiat meet im sure

Hi, I see you are in Bournemouth. I work there! I had a cinq for over 3 years and 55000 miles and a sei for 2 1/2 years and 25000 miles, neither gave any trouble at all

1987 126 FSM, 12" minilight style wheels, clear rear lights, smoked indicators.

Now that is what I want to hear, i suppose it's like any other car, if you look after it, it will look after you. I'm Bournemouth born and bred, we get the street rally through here once a year which is good for car enthusiasts but otherwise there isn't much going on. Where are the meets usually held?

Seis are generally very reliable little things, there are some easily fixable common faults like any other car - but you gets a lot of car for your money with them. Fun was a standard fitment when built, too.

It's the usual story. People that haven't owned a Fiat in years constantly spin out the same stories about unreliable, rusty Fiats that there Daddies told them in the 1970's.

Look after it and you'll have no trouble. Enjoy.

my car was perfect - only thing it needed between 4k miles and 21k miles was the alternator belt put back on and a couple of tires!
