Technical Abarth dashboard in other Stilo model?

I actually don't even have a second connector in the car.... The second one on the dashboard had to stay unconnected...

Calibrating the mileage took the dealer about 3 minutes =)

Still, those error messages and the beeps are starting to bug me...

I've got a JTD and I too would love to have the Abarth Colour Matrix Display..
I have ConnectNAV+ & Rear Parking Sensors ; Dusk Sensors & Rain Sensors...
If I could find a dashboard... I'd be soo tempted...

Doesn't the O2 Abarth got a Tyre Pressure sensor system??

Are the dealerships ok about getting the Examiner tool out to get the Dashboard to work??

What faults or error messages have been experienced?
Has the dealership network been challenged over them??

Fiat shouldn't have killed off the Active Colour Matrix Displays...

I have an Abarth manual with rear parking sensors and cruise control. I don't know anything about a tyre pressure system, I definitely don't have one, and don't see anything in the cluster menu about one. There is a menu option for Light Sensitivity, which I guess is for dusk sensors, even though I don't have, so I am sure that will work.

I got my cluster from a UK dealer, Mangoletsi (http://www.mangoletsi.com/) and they shipped it out to South Africa for me. Speak to Steve, he was really helpful trying to make sure the part number etc was right. Fiat UK dealers don't seem to generally have stock, but it only took about 3 days to arrive from Fiat Italy at the dealership. Make sure you order the correct one for whether you need km/h or miles/hour (km/h has an additional "050" code on top of the standard part number)

So far I have only 1 fault... "Loose connection" (don't know what is causing it), and 1 strange thing... when I open my right-hand door it says "Front left door open" and vice versa, but I can live with that.

I haven't yet had it calibrated it on the examiner (to update mileage, and *hopefully* sort out the bugs), but my local dealer knows me well enough now to not give me trouble

I had almost completely decided to install an Abarth dash in my Stilo but i've done some thinking and i have a few questions that with some luck somebody will be able to answer;

as some of you may know my Stilo is a diesel and i'm not worried about my dash showing the wrong revs 'cause i know where the needle should be to get best response but by changing the whole dash (not just the background) i am wondering what will happen when i plug it into the car ... should it work??? will it just give the wrong revs??? will the car tell the dash the right revs and will this one display them??

I am not at all worried about it giving the correct revs 'cause i rarely red line my engine (not much point ina diesel) and besides i'm sure i could get used to the new rev counter (even though the revs displayed are obiously not real) but i would be worried if it didn't work at all after spending 300 euros!!! Does anybody know what difference there is between the body computer (or whatever sends the signal to the dash) in a diesesl and a petrol engines?????
What about ou guys who heve installed the Abarth dash in a non Abarth; is the rev range in all petrol stilo's the same??? If not how have your revs changed??? did they "adapt" to the new dash and now diplay the correct revs???

Karteka, is your car a manual, because I dont see the gear number in the bottom left corner of your pics like on Iuri's pics.

Sorry for delaying to answer that. Yes mine is a manual one, though the dash I installed is called "Abarth Selespeed dash up to 2003".

I have no parking sensors and I don't have any irritating warnings beeping. tell to your dealer to remove the "parking sensors" option using the examiner.

Can anyone give me the part number for one that will work on a 2003 Stilo 1.8 Dynamic 3dr without Rain/Dusk/Parking sensors please? Its to fit a Righthand Drive car, with MPH NOT KM/H.

What I mean is that the codes are different. There is a part code for "Abarth dashboard,ABS,ESP,Cruise control up to 2002" and a part code for "Abarth dashboard,ABS,ESP, up to 2002"

This is why you have to chose the one with the cruise control if you have one. I really don't know what is the actual difference.

These both have colour screen.

I've found somebody who is willing to sell me an Abarth dash and i wanted to know how can i know if it's the right one for my Stilo??? Mine's an 2004 Stilo Multijet with esp, dusk sensors, park s., rain s... but no cruise control.

I'm not 100% sure a petrol dash will work with a diesel engine. The speedo probably will but I doubt the rev counter would. On Vauxhalls (just using them as an example as I own a modded one), the rev counter works by taking pulses from the coil and seeing as a diesel doesn't have one....

Would look into that first before I parted with my hard earned.

I have no idea how to make it work. Maybe fit your diesel rev counter to the Abarth dash? I've always been more of a petrol head rather than an oil burner so sorry I'm not much help... I'm pretty sure the petrol rev counter won't work with the diesel engine though and vice versa.

Why not? Should work fine, all modern tachos are electronic where all you have is a sensor monitoring engine speed. The only problem I can see is the petrol engine will have a higher redline than the diesel.

Well, i know where my redline is (4500rpm) and if the Abarth dash actually told the right revs that would be grand!!!!!! Besides, i hardly ever take it past 3000-3500 revs 'cause there's really no point. Do you really think it would work Ben??

Why not? Should work fine, all modern tachos are electronic where all you have is a sensor monitoring engine speed. The only problem I can see is the petrol engine will have a higher redline than the diesel.

All I'm going from, like I said, is Vauxhalls which I have more experience with. Petrol cars take the pulses for the revs from the ignition coil which a diesel obviously hasn't got. How would a diesel give an electronic signal that a petrol rev counter can "read"? Yeah, the speedo would probably work, that just reads from the gearbox, I can't see any problems with that.

On another note, would all the sensors work properly on the dash? Just thinking about things like oil level, oil pressure(which I think is higher on a diesel?) etc? Would be a right pain in the ass if everytime you drove, you'd get a false reading saying "low oil pressure/high oil pressure".

Damn Stilosport, you're really starting to put me off!!!!! but thanks anyway for the help, i'd rather somebody warn me now than spend $$$$ on a dash that doesn't work!!!
Although it would be really nice to be the first to do something on this forum, it's getting very difficult to do!! I'd have to change my nick to; "stilomultijet140 first guy on the fiat forum to fit and abarth dash in a diesel".. hmmm maybe a tad too long!!

It might work and even if it doesn't, I'm sure there's some way around the problem! Maybe modern diesels and petrol engined cars have some uniform way of reading the revs but in my experience with older cars, they don't.

I can see where you're coming from with wanting to be the first diesel with an Abarth dash! Would be one hell of a conversion you could be proud of!
