Technical Abarth dashboard in other Stilo model?

All dashboards for ABARTH before 2002 are with the large colour screen. After 2002 they replaced it with the usual screen all Stilo have.

Check at your FIAT locator the explanation of the part Code. Try to find the "Abarth Selespeed Dashboard 2001-2002". If you have cruise control there is also a different dashboard with the large screen.

Thanks for all the help Karateka :)

When you say there is a different dashboard with the large screen if you have cruise control, do you mean one also with colour screen, but different to your one?

I see in my manual that there are references to a "Reconfigurable Multi Function Display" for cars with radar cruise control, but it looks exactly the same (from the drawings) as the one you have installed. Is it actually different?

If they are different, I only have standard cruise control, so I'm guessing I would want one the same as yours? And if they are actually the same, then I guess it makes no difference either way?

What I mean is that the codes are different. There is a part code for "Abarth dashboard,ABS,ESP,Cruise control up to 2002" and a part code for "Abarth dashboard,ABS,ESP, up to 2002"

This is why you have to chose the one with the cruise control if you have one. I really don't know what is the actual difference.

These both have colour screen.

If any one is looking for white dials (not the abarth dash) you could check out www.birba.com, they have them for the 1,2 1,4 1,6 1,8 and all 1,9 diesels incl. the multijet.

I don't know to which countries they send, because there is a danish reseller, so i don't have to order from birba directly.

But i'm seriously considering getting them for my new multijet.

They do look quite nice and i must say the price is tempting(compared to Abarth dash) and it's nice to have some instructions for once!!

The only problem is that i'm in love with the Abarth's little screen!!!!!!
The thing is that if i do get the Abarth dash i'm going to buy these dial replacements anyway 'cause i've got a diesel and the revs don't coincide, so we'll just heve to see.

PS; has anybody noticed that the difference between the jtd dials and the multijet dials is that the multijet goes up to 260kph???? what the f*** for???

Iuri.... Did your car come out with the color display as you showed it in your pics? I'm trying to confirm the correct part number for the instrument dash with the color display like yours. Karateka has already helped out, but I just want to be 100% sure before I order it.

If you're not sure of the part number, could you send me your car's chassis no., so i could look up its part on ePer? This way i would be certain that i have the correct part number to order from Fiat. Obrigado amigo. :)

Also, can anybody confirm if its the same part number for manual and Selespeed Abarths? Karteka, is your car a manual, because I dont see the gear number in the bottom left corner of your pics like on Iuri's pics.

It's been really difficult trying to sort this out cos none of the dealer's can confirm anything either, so any help is appreciated! :bang:

Easy. Remove the plastic cover behind the steering-wheel and two screws appear under the dash. Remove these and the one at the top of the dash and it is released. Unplug the cables and place the new dash using the 3 screws we mentioned before and you are done.

Now you have to "calibrate" the new dash which means that it has to be connected to the examiner and be programmed for the type of car that you own.

I have the Abarth manual. Do i still need to "calibrate" and have an agent connect the examiner and be program it? Cant i just swop the two out?

YAY, my colour LCD instrument cluster arrived today :D looks excellent, really happy with it!

just a quick question if anybody knows... i took out my old cluster which was plugged in with only one cable at the back, even though the car has two plugs (one was just sitting loose)

the back of this new cluster has 2 plugs, so i obviously thought to plug them both in. however, when i start the car now it says "loose connection"...

so must i maybe not actually plug in the second plug? i don't know what it leads to, maybe satnav or something, which I dont have... anybody know? i still have to get it calibrated at a dealer to get the mileage sorted, but i was just wondering if i should undo the second plug in the meantime.

thanks!

Mine does that too.... Any idea how to get rid of that (and the parking sensor failure msg, since mine doesn't have any...)?

Best,
Lars.

I have parking sensors so I maybe that's why I don't get a parking sensor failure.

Karateka, do you also have a "loose connection" warning?

Larzmaster, did you plug in both connectors on the back too? Have you had your mileage calibrated at the dealer yet?

I tried unplugging the one connector that wasn't plugged into my original cluster, but it still gives the loose connection warning :(
