Hope the title didn't bring people to this post under false expectations...

Does anyone know why there is a protruding screw in the boot of my 500x?!

What purpose does it serve, and should it have a cap on it?

Has a habit of ripping open shopping bags.

Does it not work?
Not a question of how it works or does not.

Point is that we here in the UK / EU, post last ePER 84 can no longer access / obtain official part numbers that easily.

In the US MOPAR, as per my link, allow customers to freely access part information, and even tell you where you can purchase those parts.

The problem is that in the US all their part numbers are different to EU/UK ones.

So my question was how was US P/N: 68121914aa to 670003320

It might be that poster Wasstraat63 has access to Fiat EU systems or has found a cross reference source, hence my question.

Interesting - I had the same issue and purchased in the UK one of the caps / buttons - 670003320 / however it’s way too short a thread - only goes about half way down the screw and just sticks out - imagine it must be flush to hold the carpet in place and as it only goes about half way down it sticks out and will get knocked off / break in no time. Odd.

My 500x has it and there is supposed to be a plastic plug on it.
Its supposed to hold the carpet trim in place. They fall off easily. EITHER, sek a new plug, or cut off the peg to prwvent it damaging things in tge boot. Its a Fiat speciality.
