Nice, 4wd would be usefull, but I parked next to a new A3 the other day, and it looks so similar in terms of overall shape and size to my Stilo, if I was paying all that dosh, I'd want something a little more special looking;) But I'm more bothered about looks than performance:)

I think you'll find when you graduate you trade down, so that you can raise enough cash to live as you'll be too busy spending all your salary (if you get one) on you Stoodent loan repayments! ;)

I contemplated a Scooby for a while, but the general image is starting to drop a bit, and they are just too damn expensive to run...... or maybe i've just got really tight with age, and i'm more interested in saving for a big garage to restore my mini in! :I

2003 3 Door Stilo 1.2 Active, Sassy Grey, 5 disc CD Changer, Abarth boot badge, plastic wheel trims - and 42.4mpg average so far. Love it, Oh yes!

Stilo being collected on Thursday at long last!!
Here's what she's got lined up for it:

Window Tints
Side skirts
Door mirrors colour coded
17in wheels (Probably the claw style ones)

Quite looking forward to getting it actually. The 6 speed gearbox should be a novelty at first!!

Cheers

Nick

Nice1, get some pics when you get it;)

you getting the tints done by fiat or elsewhere? what does your insurance say about them?

Stilo TURBO!!!!(diesel)

Do you not want to go with 18s? wouldnt take much work at all to get them on i dont reckon, taking mine to get it checked out over the weekend.

Tints are being done elsewhere.Fiats wanted around £400 and I'm gettin em done for £190 (This includes four side windows and rear window)
Wheels are on order and should be here this week. (I went for the claw style ones) and also ordered the side skirts too.I've seen some cars with the skirts and they have the Abarth scorpion badges on.Have these people just stuck the badges on? (I've seen a website that sells em - www.abarthbadges.co.uk)
As to insurance,we're both insured with Liverpool Victoria and there's no premium increase with the wheels or skirts or tints.Mind you,we're both 'old' at 32!! ;)

Cheers

Nick

I believe the latest set of sideskirts come with the abarth badges, I might be wrong tho, have a look at the post further down about coulour coding bumper strips;)

Yep,the skirts DO come with the Abarth badges.I picked them up on Saturday and just awaiting them being sprayed.17in claw wheels are now fitted so I've put some pics up as requested earlier.... :D

I noticed when the 17's were fitted that the bells of the disks were rusty and looked really sh1tty (See pic below)

Before-Hammerite.JPG

So,I got my Hammerite silver spray out and took each wheel off and sprayed the bells. It makes a HUGE difference and gives the car that 'clean' look if you like!! ;)

I have to say the wheels make a huge difference to the overall appearance of the car but now it needs lowering springs me thinks!! :( (Yet more expense)

So,here's what we've got to do to the car yet:

Eibach 'progressive rate' lowering springs (My choice not hers)
Side skirts to be fitted once painting (Hopefully within a week or so)
Windows to be tinted
Maybe some nice car mats from autostyle.co.uk

So,what do you all reckon so far then? :)

Cheers

Nick
