Yeah right. Nowhere has any.

I unfortunately have a cut in the side wall of my nearside rear tyre. It looks dangerously deep so I am using the spare 'get you home' wheel.

Can I find any 195/45 R15 Eagle F1's ???
I have contacted about 10 local tyre fitters and a online tyre place, they all say that the Eagle F1's in that saize are on backorder from GoodYear and they can not give me a date when they will start shipping them again.

So I have some options:
  • leave the space saver tyre on a limp around at 50mph and wait?
  • put a cheapo crap tyre on until GoodYear finally send some more over to the UK?
  • Get a equivilent performance tyre.?
Has anyone else had this problem?? I have literally tried everywhere and I get the same answer wherever I call.

Any ideas?

theres a shortage of eagle F1s at the mo, I'm told there are yokohamas in the same profile available at a cheaper price and equally as impressive performance wise, the shortage stretches back as far as when I had the accident in the first panda, my tyres is a good choice, but reflected in the price, I'll be trying the yokos when I'm due a set :)

Guys just a heads up, I have Toyo T1Rs on my 1.2 that have lasted me just over 7000 miles and wear very quickly. They are absolute crap in the wet, and wear very quickly after 3000 miles or so, and I've had the tracking checked 3 times...I wouldn't recommend them on the heavier 100hp.

I'm heading back to the Pirelli P5000 Drago camp once the T1Rs are down to bare minimum.

Huh, pitty I dont live closer to you - I've got a set, brand new (driven 50 miles) and no one seems to be wanting them. And mind you, I went as low as 40 EUR per tire.

No one is selling them in Slovenia either - a real rarity.
How much of a difference would it be, going from 45 to 50 (both 15, 195)? Comfier ride, a bit more roll in the curves? Anyone did that sort of change?

thats strange, on a punto they are the beat wet tyres ive ever had, and last 3 times longer than my Pirellis did

Well Ive finally got a full size tyre on the 100hp so the pram wheel can go back in the boot... Nobody could supply the Eagle F1 so I found the Yokohama S-drive in the correct size.

This is the sales blurb:

"The latest addition to the range is the S.drive, a driver-orientated tyre aimed at sports or high performance cars, whose drivers want confidence and grip in equal measure.

Performance is the S.drive’s forte and is the result of the combination of compound, construction and tread design. The tread features multi-dimensional grooves, maximising the contact area, and hence grip as the car corners, while the four grooves clear water and make sure the tyre performs as well in the wet as the dry. The micro-flexible rubber compound means that the surface of the tyre effectively wraps itself around imperfections in the road, rather than riding over them while the double belted construction helps the tyre sustain speeds up to the magical 300kph.

The S.drive had been developed in a range of innovative sizes, as well as more traditional ones. This is to allow for fitment within narrow wheelarches; particularly useful for the tuner market, where space is always a premium for replacement wheels and tyres or lowered suspension. Its distinctive tread pattern is also guaranteed to make it a hit with drivers looking for not just a high-performance tyre but one with individuality. The S.drive starts at 195/40x16 and increases to 225/35x20."

Ive got 2 on the rear axle and they feel sturdy enough.

So I have a spare Eagle F1 that is almost brand new up for grabs if anyone wants it.??

Thanks for the help chaps.

Have you tried a Fiat dealer? Fiat must be getting them from somewhere. Cheaper to pay for one slightly more expensive (dealer price) tyre than 4 new ones if they're not needed yet.

How about the new F1s - the asimetrical ones? I hear they've been recieving good reviews!
