Technical 1.2 Injector Seals

Technical 1.2 Injector Seals

Yes they are about £1.80 each, standard Bosch injectors

Should be pretty obvious if they are leaking and worse under heavy loads

But it's far more likely to be a fault with the breather tube

Either perished, split, loose or unplugged, very common cause of petrol smell in the cabin

Cheers mate,

What breather pipe would that be? Any of the pipes connected to the air filter box? Or different pipe? :)

This, breather tube

And sometimes this is damaged or missing on the throttle body

If you need a new breather check here first, some listings say they are for the panda but aren't the correct part
So I had a check, none of the hoses are split, nor the airbox-throttle body bung is damaged.

I'm not entirely sure it's the injector seals either as there doesn't appear to be any petrol leaking (when revving) from them.

It's not a exhaust gas smell, it's definitely petrol fumes.

I have checked fuel filler cap and no damage to the seal and still clicks on correctly.

Maybe need to take it to a mechanic to find out.

Thank you for your help
Adam

Does it smell of petrol out of the exhaust

Are you sure its not from the evap

Drivers side rear wheel

Is it worse on startup
Reversing
At idle stationary
Slow or fast speeds

Hi koalar

The smell enters the cabin when I'm slowing down, when I turn the cabin fan off or switch the air inlet to recirc, the smell goes away so I feel it's definitely coming from engine bay.

When I open engine bay, it's very hard to tell where smell is originating from, as I originally thought it was the injector seals 🦭

Though digging through Internet and this forum, I think I may be onto something...

Last week I was going on a long run, so I brimmed my fuel tank. *click* squeeze squeeze *click* squeeze *click*. I think you mentioned the EVAP system, I'm starting to think I've damaged something? Perhaps the purge valve with the blue hose underneath throttle body?

No codes are showing, no EML light. So don't know if anything to do with charcoal canister?

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks
Adam
