Hi all, aint been on here in a while. so will make this short.
I have a Stilo JTD with mods ie: air filter and chipped.
I was reading a lot on the internet and most people with turbo diesel cars have de cat them and have gained power and helps the turbo spool up quicker and have really good results due to the mods that they have done like chipped and air filter.

So is this correct? and has someone done this?
and if so what result did they get.

this guy is on alfaforum alot and has developed and made this precat decat cant say wether it will fit stilos for sure you'd have to eper alfa and stilo cats.
i think euro 3 has no o2 sensor bung and euro 4 has o2 bung.

as for results you may feel like its lost a bit of torque low down, slightly faster spool, better top end reving, but lastly possibility of boost creep and overspeeding the turbo.
everything has a downside.

i have just ordered a decat pipe from Gezalla Racing so will let you know when it is on but it should allow the turbo to spin up quicker giving the impression of more power.

if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost?
and is it the de cat pipe for the centre cat or for the down pipe cat?

it is about 90 quid delivered. I didnt realise there was a downpipe to buy as well. I will order that tonight from js.

I need the centre pipe as my flexi pipe has a hole in it.

just had a look at that web site and its wicked. all the stuff that iv been looking for.
yes there is 2 cats but the one buy the down pipe is a mot failure if you change it, not sure about the one in the middle. but who cares as long as you get more power.

so will you actually gain more power with this and not loose anything - that is the question??

are you sure that removing the cat is an mot fail? i will get it anyway as i have a friendly tester

Chris, what mods have you done so far.

well im not sure if it is or not as i have been doing some research on it about other cars and they they said that they have passed no problem with a de cat.
the only modds that i have done is a remap and a air filter but the air filter is the same size as a standard one. plus i have cut a bigger hole for the air to come through.
If you look at the grill when your bonnet is open you can see the where the air goes inn but its covered half way in front but a plastic cover. so i just used a jig saw and cut the plastic off lol. gives the car more pull.
I think all jtd`s should do it as it gives the engine more air.

No lowering springs or coilovers yet as the bushes on the left wishbone arm (bottom arm) keeps braking. 3rd wishbone this year. think its all the pot holes and the fast driving.

Rattystilo you do know what this means dont you ? NO JOKE as I am sure you know a decat turbo charged engine does..... well how can i put it, produce stupid amounts of power, you are already pushing 160 and jesus I gather that surely you will top 200, surely : )

I have seen a decat diesel seat Leon before and yea it was noisy but my lord, did it shift everyother ***** ***** out of the way

not yet. ordered the mid pipe but not the one straight after the turbo. Cock up on the JS website which i am waiting to hear back on. My fault

well i have just got back from having my mot and it passed flying colours, only failed on illegal number plates ha lol. and he said that a de cat pipe would 100 percent give more power and that he has done it himself on his diesel cars. so i think its about time i ordered one now, might as well as i havent got a mot for another year.
also does anyone know what millage do you change your cam-belt at?

60000 miles or 5 years. might pay to do it more frequently on a modded car.

Chris i have ordered the front pipe from js as well as the centre pipe. just gotta transfer the money over as the paypal didnt go through.

what u managed to get a front de cat pipe uswell as the middle de cat pipe. ur mental lol.
u have to watch now thought as too much power and the clutch will go bang.
how long will the postage take on them?
im just about to pull the pipes off the turbo to the intercooler and change them coz i think there is a split but god knows where. plus cannot find a new pipe that goes from the engine to the intercooler

When you get your new pipes could you let me know which ones you buy as I defo have a split but don't know where either.

Just to update this post i now have in the boot of my jtd the top decat pipe from js tuning. it took a couple of weeks to get here but good communication all the way with email updates on order status.

As i am still waiting for the Reggazon centre pipe ordered from Gazella Racing it will be another week before i get the pipes on. Due to the lack of communication from Gazella (never answer phones and automated email reply of no use) i raised a dispute through paypal as waiting 3 weeks without being told the pipe is coming straight from the factory is not acceptable.

So, i ordered another Reggazon centre pipe from js tuning so that i would at least get one eventually and js seem a much more professional outfit. Downside is that i will end up with one on the car and one to prop the garage door open
