Hi.
After doing a search & not coming up with anything much, I am asking the question.
Seeing as a smoke test is only carried out on diesels & not a cat test, Has anybody removed their cats to free up a few more horses.
I believe there are two on the Jtd, In the Downpipe & the Centre Pipe ?

Do any company's sell a Cat bypass (i cannot find any) or is the only option to go to a custom exhaust manufacturer & have the cats removed/by-passed ??

Looking at the 80 Bhp model, It does not have a Cat in the D-pipe, I wonder if this could be used (Flanges & size permitting) on the 115 Model as a decat pipe !?

Thanks

Dean

Hi mate,

The downpipe from the 80hp version unfortunately will have the wrong mounting to join with the turbo.

You probably best off getting a custom decat pipe made by someone like Hayward&Scott.

Right,
From having a quick glance under mine whilst changing the oil the other day, It looked like the Cat was in a section that could be un-bolted easily,(wishfull thinking !!) The picture you have shows it as fitting directly onto the Turbo exhaust housing, Which would look to be expensive to replicate !!
I suppose you could get a 2nd hand unit & destroy the cat, but it still looks a bit of a bugger to do on your back !!
Maybe i will just remove the centre cat for a little more freeflow before my remap :D

Cheers

i had mine decatted by longlife exhausts, when i had a flexi back stainless steel system fitted. i cannot comment on power as i havent had it dyno'ed but it is a LOT smoother to drive and throttle response is quicker (y)
