Stilo acting strange (led flash)

Am I the only one or is my Stilo MW 1.9 JTD 80 acting strange. My ashtray has a mind of his own and pops open whenever he wants. Spoiler on backdoor has to be replaced because it touches the roofedge when opening. Last week I drove home and the LED in my door kept flashing.

Car is now 7,5 weeks in possesion..

I had the same problem with the LED on my door aswell! Anoying after a while!
It seems to stop when I turn off the engine and then start up again, but I would like to know if this is the start of a bigger problem.
Another anoying problem that I have is that the clutch pedal has started to click![:(!] I have to put my music up louder to drown out the clicking!!!
Any sugestions will help!

MAybe a silly suggestion.

Make sure you're not presing any of the bottons on the key as you turn on the igntion. I noticed I was doing this occassionally.

I will be taking my stilo in for a service in the next few weeks and I'm thinking of getting the dealership to sort out a number of annoying things (what are the chances). Just wondering if anyone has experienced any of the following and are they more sinister than they seem?

Clunking sound and rattle coming from the passenger side of the dash

Rorty sound coming from the front of the car (presumably the exhaust) when I start it up. The sound continues for a few minutes of driving then vanishes. Only apparent when the car is warming up and accelerating.

Rattle coming from the parcel shelf area (hard to pin down when driving)

An ocassional click from the rear of the car (drivers side) when going over bumpy road areas (could be suspension)

Squeak coming from rear when going over speed bumps etc. again, could be suspension.

Creaky, clicking clutch pedal (not a cool sound). i thought It would ease over time but that aint happening.

Any thoughts most welcome. Apart from this the car runs well and the problems seem minor and dont effect the running of the car. Still have to say at £9,000 for a brand new 1.6 Dynamic is a damn good deal in my opinion. Even got steering wheel stereo contols that weren't meant to be there

Everyone has the clutch problem. It can be one of two things, the first is a plastic linkage (ball & socket affair), the second being the clutch master cylinder. Mine is getting done today (again). It's a common problem but the sh##te dealers never carry the parts so a re-book is usually required, despite you telling what it is!!!

Good luck with the rest of the problems and for future ones when the occurr!

Re: Welcome..............................

Very true!

Just had my brake linkages fixed on the Stilo Selespeed - brake lights stuck on constantly, which meant autobox wouldn't change up, had to resort to manual over-ride. This meant after a while, ESP/ASR errors and subsequent deactivation....

Now airbag weight sensor in passenger seat broken! Even with that side deactivated, as soon as you sit that side, warning lights go off. Part on back order from Italy.

But hey, still loving it :)

Just got mine back. It's still not fixed! Needs a complete new clutch, a heat sheild to cure the rattle and the welded bracket that holds the rubber aircon hose has a sharp weld which pierces the hose and causes it to de-gas. These prpblems have persisted for a while. They could have done the weld today but the car could have blown up. I asked them what their point was!!

Hey i dont know if any of you guys have a idea what this could be but... When i go over bumps, im hearing a rattling noise coming from above the drivers side wheel?! Also after reading about your clutch, mines starting squeeking recently and it just seems to be getting worse... ..down to the dealership to get this sorted checked out! And maybe they will also replace my cig tray as it dosen't clip in, have asked for it to be done twice when my car has been in, but they never seem to do it.

I have a cracking noise from rear o/s. they had interiour out, striped suspension. They seem to think its a dry spot weld! Dont like them taking welder to it now but waiting for them to sort it out.
