I'm struggling with putting the LH swivel hub back on to the suspension ball joint. It doesn't go all the way on. The clamping bolt is loose. Am I missing something? Is there some trick to it?

Yes..

Bolt out.. slide on.. bolt in.. there is a groove that the bolt slides through AFTER assembly ;)

please dont drive it how it is
as said bolt out and carefully get the balljoint much further in,look to the other side for guidance on how much protrudes its about8mm i seem to remember
also dont knock 7 bells with a hammer under balljoint to achive this as it damages the cover
be careful undoing the nut and bolt as they shear easily plenty of wire brush and a good dose of fluid is the best action prior to strip
how did you get it like that anyway???????????

Wasn't going to drive like that but thanks for your concern. It slides on like that but stops on the clamp bolt. After taking the bolt out it went on without any problems.
