Ive managed to locate a diff gear set for my blown diff....
Would prefer to have box rebuilt vs having to strip my current fitted box to finish the other box

I need to replace the speedo gear on the housing (7669553) (mines got teeth missing)

This is a common part fitted to many boxes! But since non abs cars are dying in the UK, i cant find a UK supplier

This is for a 1.2 8v box c514 5speed non abs
The box doesnt have a bolt crown wheel - its the bonded version

i bought the daughter a w plated punto when it was 3 years old slight body damage
it wouldnt drive and as i was busy i farmed the clutch job out
turns out the reason it was written off was a new clutch had been fitted prior to minimum bodywork being done but car wouldnt drive
turned out crownwheel was glue rather than bolted
i never used a gearbox from an early model again

The bonded / heat shrunk diff aint been the problem for me... just the toffee gears inside....

The part appears to be available in stock in hungary and poland.........

I noticed today in the following thread the same Latvian company was used to get the gearbox selector oil seal so there seems to be no problem with their reliability.

Well 1 blow to the next....

Ive got the new speed gear yay!!!
New bearings are lost in post... new should be here soon

But supplier for new diff gears pulled out on me....

So yeah.... im stuck again now...

Slightly off topic but a loose bonded diff crownwheel can be fixed with new bonding and "dutch dowelling" Heat will de-bond the gear. 150oC definitely but don't go any hotter. If the 'box is being rebuilt it's worth having it dowelled as a precaution. Machine shop costs are not high if you take them the parts.

Ziggy, Can you tell me how you know what type of box you have? Is that C514 marked on the gearbox?

I am asking because I just ordered a C514.5 gearbox rebuild kit from ebay but my casting is marked as in the photo.
