Hi guys.

I have a 2005 Fiat punto active sport 1.2 3dr manual.

I just had a new gearbox fitted in there yesterday and a brand new clutch in there.

Before this work was carried out the car used to over rev when accelarating but speed was not being picked up and be at the speed ratio with the revs.

This i know is the clutch on its way out but after a BRAND NEW clutch was fitted yesterday, this problem still continued :s

What could this problem be? It over revs slightly less than before but still shouldnt be like this. Maybe he didnt fit the clutch in properly? I dunno

ANY HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Thanks

ha yeah true say.. im sure its not my fault anyway.. cant f**k it up within a few hours lol.. dyu think its a long job? would they have to open it all up again?

Make sure the gearbox bearing and oil seal are checked. It should be an automatic job on any car but often ignored. Fiat hydraulic clutches tend to stop releasing before they slip so if it was slipping before the repair, that gearbox seal has to be suspect for putting oil where it shouldn't be going.

If its just not been bolted up, Im sure the garage will sort it.
