I tried changing my pads and discs on my 1.4GP Punto Evo a couple of weeks ago. When I came to removing the calliper bracket, I couldn’t seem to find the right tool. I’ve attached a (admittedly bad) photo of the bolt in question.

If anyone can advise what this is, and what socket I’d need, I’d be very grateful!

Thanks

Thanks for this! Successfully changed my pads yesterday. Tried to change the discs but the alignment bolts were all rounded off. I didn’t have a drill to get them out either. Any idea what screw and length these should be for when I come to replace them? The Haynes service manual proved useless as ever

In the past when this has happened I just cut a slot in the head of the bolt with a dremel and undone them with a part flat screwdrivers (doesn’t matter if you nic the disc as you’re replacing it.

That way you can reuse the bolts again after

I wouldn't bother to replace the alignment bolts since I don't think they do anything but make installation of the discs a bit easier.

Clean faces.. then install bolts

The discs remain true to the hubs until released.. :)

Loose discs rattling around at wheel changes can sit poorly..
Effecting both runout and potentially torque values :(
