Hi all! Just ordered a new Panda Multijet and specified aircon as one of the options. The Fiat site then tells me that longitudinal roof bars are incompatible with the aircon option! Does this mean that in some mysterious way the aircon option includes roof bars or is a huge "outdoor unit" mounted on the roof? I want aircon and roof bars. Why is it so difficult to get what you desire?:bang:

I ordered air con, and got roof bars and side strip thingy`s as well,
but i didnt want them... i was told it wasnt an option, they come together

But, they have grown on me and i quite like the look of them now, so i think your logic is correct , they arent an option you can pick , you have them already, but try asking for a split rear seat as well and that might put the cat among the pigeons!

That's right. You must have roof rails if you specify manual air con. They are part of the "air con pack" at £550 which comprises air con, roof rails and side rubbing strips. So the real choice problem lies if you want manual air con and no rails. You can't have it:bang: ! Period. Your only option is to order full climate control at £700. This comes without roof rails...... but is not even shown on Fiat's web sit configurator:confused: . No wonder us poor punters are confused...

Thanks to all who replied to my query(y) Definitive answers that Fiat were unable to supply! What a nice friendly place this forum is. Long live the Fiat Forum:)

I also appear to have the same car spec on order and as a new customer its confusing to say the least.
What I am interested in, now having ordered it, how long you are having to wait for delivery. I was quoted 6 weeks for delivery but I am not sure it will have landed by then. Anyway an excellent choice and welcome to what must be one of the best motoring forums around.

I had a message on my anserphone from the fiat dealer to say that my eleganza will be ready at beginning of march - yippee!!

Well I was quoted 8 to 10 weeks for my Panda but although I have the registration number so far no news on the car itself! Never thought I would be so excited and impatient. Come on Fiat. We're buying them, make some PDQ(y)

i am taking delivery of a multijet with aircon and roof bars on 15th nov, had no problems, i think its the skydome you cannot have roof bars.

Dear Sir,
I want to order the roof bars but don't want that wretched Panda car thingy attached to them.
What on Earth can I do?

Yours Sincerely,
Major A. Looney.

Answer for the Major from Looney Minor.

Simple! - Just order the bars only from your FIAT Parts department..... :D - You don't have to PANDA to the salesman.....:D:D

(They come with free AIR but this is a CON - Ah, there's the RUB):D:D:D

That's odd, you can have manual aricon without roofbars in France, why should the two be linked? Do they think only people with two much luggage to fit in the boot need aircon?

Very odd.
