Fiat panda 2005 1.3 multijet

Hi

I have just had my clutch replaced and now have a problem if anyone can advise please.
When starting the car from cold I have the oil light on for about 6 seconds and the engine sounds fine but after the 6 seconds the oil light goes off and there is a swishing noise this noise goes away when the engine is warm.

This definitely didnít happen before clutch was replaced.

Thanks

swashing noise sound like bubbles in a pipe behind the dash ?

I take it you have checked the oil level and for leaks ?

Thanks for reply
The noise is hard to explain wizzing noise itís not a knocking noise or a bearing rumble. Yes the oil level is fine. When the noise seams to stop I have used a screwdriver as a listening tool and it seams to be coming from sump. Iím thinking possibly oil pump but how has this happened with the car having a clutch replacement.

I guess the First thing to do is to log the faults with the garage that changed the clutch.

if they have caused the faults, they should repair them free of charge

Re: Fiat panda 2005 1.3 multijet

the First thing to check is the oil pressure switch

Do you have a multi meter ?

obviously if the oil pressure isn't there you will be damaging the engine

the switch only has one terminal

Check its plugged in properly ?

disconnect the connector and measure the resistance from the switches terminal to battery negative. While observing the resistance start the car.

report back the values and how quickly it changes

Ok thanks I have a multimeter with ohm setting which setting shall I use I have 2k 20k 200k or 2m?

Could this be caused by clutch replacement or simply just a coincidence?

2K range

not a big believer in coincidences. They do happen.

I can't see a connection between the clutch and oil pressure. Shouldn't even need to touch the turbo or its plumbing for a clutch change.

need to concentrate on the oil pressure First.

the light is computer controlled. First we need to check if it really has low pressure at start up. Hence testing the switch directly first.

Have you checked the heat exchanger under the oil filter housing/oil filler pipe?

They are prone to leaking and it might be causing a bit or aeration which is why the oil pressure sensor is lit up at cold start.

Key off 0.00-0.01

Key on mar before starting 0.36 dropping down by 0.01 each reading until it got down to 0.26 then I started the engine

When started 1.90, 0.88, 0.24, 0.17, 0.14, 0.08, -0.03, -0.01, -0.04, -0.09, -0.13, -0.17, -0.13, -0.17, -0.22, -0.25, -0.30, -0.31, -0.30. -0.31, .0.29, -0.28, -0.26, -0.25, -0.24, -0.23, -0.22, -0.21, -0.20, -0.19, -0.18 then 1.

When it stayed on 1. Thatís when the winning noise starts.

Hope this helps I could have slipped off the positive connection on the switch while doing this. Thanks
