Hi all
My heart is with Classic Pandas but I use Panda 169 at the moment and I have electrical issue with her.
Can't find any similar topic or anything in common faults. So...
It started from resetting clock on start up. I've read that it could be battery even if starter motor turns properly but I haven't managed to replace battery as yet.
However now I'm getting other issues. Wife pointed that wipers start itself and you can't stop them. So I started to use Panda instead to make more observations:
- regardless if clocks reset or not when I start car (usually when it's wet) I have no wipers and no fan (sometimes both, sometimes one or other)
- if I don't have fan, reversing light doesn't work as well and I'm not sure what else (I need second person to check my brake lights). Front/back lights, indicators works.
Then after few minutes all back to normal, however wipers like to start operate during my drive.
What I've noticed as well: wipers usually start to operate when they get power back.

So my questions:
- anyone had it before?
- does anyone know what rail/relay powers fan and wipers (I think must be separated)
- is it in fuse box under bonnet? (I've managed to find some relays descriptions but none are related to my issue)
- there are some relays under steering wheel but nothing in book about them

As it's issue with "power after ignition" do you know if in Pandas 169 power goes directly via ignition or though relay(s)?

I know that under steering wheel there is electrical module with probably some electronic modules inside but it's attached to body work with metal brackets and locked with rivets. I've tried to check it on scrap yard one day to see what's inside but without drill I wasn't able to take it out. It seems like not replaceable part.

Other thing I though it could be some earth issues but where to search. In classic Panda I knew every cable but here is too modern ;)

Any suggestions welcome.

Hi jankcy

we have a 1.2 dynamic A/C

I would start with putting a new battery on it before fiddling with anything else!.

get your voltage to standard levels.

Hi

Thank you. First I'll check battery voltage (and drops) and alternator charging level (if I get few hours free of rain :) but as you said and from what I can see, replacing battery may be the cheapest option anyway :)

Battery. Almost certainly.
Also check earth lead from battery negative via bodywork to gearbox.
And the small earth lead to the ECU.
(If it was a Grande Punto I'd say check the fusebox for water, as that's nearly the full set of symptoms for that, but not seen that particular problem on a 169 Panda.)
