Mebe a stupid nebe question...but my 2010 Panda I've just bought doesn't appear to have any means of opening the tailgate except via the key. Am I being stupid:)? Mine is the basic Panda active eco..very basic model. Haven't put her on the road yet as I'm doing full service etc. Thanks people:) IMAG0070.jpg

key only as you suspect
wait till you buy the newer shape pop panda and find the same issue...fiats take you back to a time that people forgot:D

Many cars are like this now. My Lexus LS is the same. I think it is an anti-theft device. Stops stealing at traffic lights?????

Are you guys sure? I thought I read here there's a part that fails / seizes due to muck in there .Anyway I got my 2010 Eco 1.1 18 month ago with single digit thousands of miles on it and it was still 'broke' ( inactivity / lack of use doesn't always help cars - things size from lack of use ) .I went out to mine and I think there's a handle / switch under the FIAT badge that is the problem ('microswitch' fails?)

There is a microswitch that often fails on models which have remote locking, but I'm fairly sure the Active Eco doesn't have remote locking as standard, so it also doesn't have the boot switch either.
Certainly our one doesn't.

Well that's great news , one less job on the Summer Holidays To Do list !!!On a side note Fiat were RIDICULOUSLY petty with their strip job on the Eco model .So they took out the switch in the rear hatch handle ? They also took out a pile of soundproofing .( I guess it's a Panda Club Sport/ Superleggera!) Going from a 2005 to this I was shocked to find no soundproofing under bonnet but also on the bulkhead ( I thought I'd bought a cut and shut for a terrifying moment !) .You can even hear the rear brakes working due to lack of soundproofing .The car in general is deafening on motorways but returns up to 54mpg Its still on the original Continental Ecos at 28k miles but I'm hoping replacements will be far quieter .Any tyre recommendations ?To be honest I'm trying to 'preserve' the tyres as proof of the cars low mileage with a view to buying a Fiat 500 .Fear of ending up in a ditch on a wet day ( insurance companies will reduce or refuse claims if your tyres are below certain limits ) and the 500s reliability are likely to see me with new 'boots' soon though ...

I've had a complete set of Michelin Energy Saver + on the Panda for the last two years and have been pleased with the mpg, grip, and wear. Not cheap but I also had these on my previous Yaris which after 55,000 miles with these tyres still had 3.5mm of tread all round.

Surely the rears should barely eear..??

My punto is on the original Contis at 33k.
Fronts are still legal as fitted in the factory..AFAIK The rears are still around 6mm

The Yaris must be a lot lighter on Tyres than most cars !
