Hi all,
I’ve got a cross 4x4 on order and I’ve been told today that it’ll bea 2021 model spec with the new interior. It’s due about January or February and will be my first cross but follows a 4x4, 100hp, mk2 4x4, mk1, 126, qubo, 2 abarths, 4 Alfa’s and a Lancia as well as lots of others.

I’m really looking forward to it and would welcome any running in tips and twinair driving tips.

Also anyone waiting with me for a 2021 cross?

Yep first twinair. The previous pandas have been fires or 1.3 diesel in the last 4x4 so the twin will be something new.

I though twinairs had been dropped.. and the 3pot motors had replaced them....?(perhaps the imminent demise of diesel power has changed things..)

But I like the TA.. done @58k in my 7 years in a punto.. (y)

So we bought a low miles panda last year.. they take @20k miles to fully free off ;)

Just starting to enjoy it now :)

The TA engine is great, great noise, great fun. Always use the correct oil, run it in properly and then ENJOY.
Get into second quickly after moving off, as a carelessly heavy right foot will have you hitting the rev limiter.
I absolutely love it and I have some very interesting/exciting motorbikes, so that's saying something

When we were speaking to a local Fiat dealer about buying a new Cross they mentioned that the 2021 Panda was being released, he advised holding off for a week as they would be available to order the following week. There seems to be some nice things included as standard on the 2021 Cross which were options on the 'older' Cross, reversing sensors and tinted windows for instance. They're also doing a really nice Blue colour.

The reason we went for the one we've got is that there was going to be a 3 month wait, he wasn't sure if the price would increase after Brexit and the dealer of the new ready-to-go Cross we were also looking at threw in the reversing sensors and discounted a reversing camera, plus it was £3000 off the list.

When I ordered it wasn't clear if it was the 2021 model or not. It was as the order book reopened in October. As it turns out I'm told it will be the 2021 model although I'm not bothered if its the 2020 as I ordered tints and reversing sensors anyway along with the winter pack. I had a great deal but as mentioned it is a 3-4 month wait.

Apparently the new model cars will be in stock from December but I expect that they will be dealer showroom and test cars rather than orders so I'm not expecting to see mine until well into the new year.

Really looking forward to getting it and learning the Twin air character.

We were close to ordering one, dealer told us to hold off as the 2021 ordering was about to open up. The only thing was the lead time and there was no guarantee that the price wouldn't go up post-Brexit. So we decided to go for a new in-stock one. Pity, really wanted the new blue colour.

With the news that the UK Pandas are not getting CarPlay, I'd say there's very little in it between 2020 and 2021 spec for us. We're presumably also not getting the new "eco" dashboard; my experience of something similar in a previous car is that you're better off without it. If I was in the market for one today, I wouldn't hesitate to look for one from stock. You also don't want to be hostage to fortune on lead times with everything going on. My Panda order got caught up in the kung flu factory shutdown and took eight months.

Heard today that my car is at “status 16’ which they say means the spec is locked and production is due. I was told that it should be with me in March which will be 6 months after my order.

Luckily it’s an additional car so there’s no problem waiting and I won’t have to pay anymore even though prices have changed

2021 spec cross 4x4s seem to be in production.

As least being a March delivery it’ll be a 21 plate also (y)

Good point! At least it softens the blow of waiting another 2 months. Can’t wait to have a panda again.

Well the new cross 4x4 has arrived at the dealer and collection is booked for Friday. It’s been a long wait since ordering in early October but I’m sure it’ll be worth it. Very much looking forward to being in a Panda again.

They now come on summer tyres- get the dealer to switch to all seasons given your delay. It’s a 4x4, summer tyres ffs!
