Hi

The Start&Stop system on my Fiat Panda 2012+ sometimes ves me an engine warning triangle. And the light is on in the Start&Stop button.

Next time I start the car it is gone, and I experience no other problems. The Start&Stop system has not really ever worked, or maybe I just never turned it on.

I experienced this a few time, so I asked my mechanic about it, and he said - turn the key until the electric come on - put on your seatbelt while alle lights go out in the display (give it a little time) - then fully turn the key for ignition.

I have had no Start&Stop issues since.

It might just be suppestion and woodoo - but I would mention it - since it does seem to work :)

My dealer gave similar advice - turn the key to the first setting and wait until the fuel gauge goes up before starting. Yes, as varescrazy says, this lets the electronics complete a full self-check, and is good practice with any modern car.

Note by the way that if the light is 'on' in the stop/start switch that means the stop/start system is turned 'off'...

I would try changing the Brake light switch.

I would try changing the Brake light switch.

Yep! Just had a myriad of warnings, hill-hold, ESC, yellow triangle of coming doom, local (and excellent) Alfa techs swapped out brake light switch problem gone. Also, changed voltage regulator (if that's it job?) on the negative battery post and hey presto the stop start works having been AWOL for a couple of years (including a new battery).

I also have the flashing odometer issue which is the Blue & Me module malfunctioning. Interestingly I have seen a theory that this can provide a battery drain that might go some way towards explaining a flat battery after a week of no use. Apparently this module (once failed) can stay "awake" once the car is turned off and therefore provides the current drain. I think you can remove failed module (if you don't fancy the FIAT £450 replacement price) and reset the system telling it no longer has a B&M module (or get a second hand one - PROXI alignment required). The flashing odometer thing is the CANbus telling us it can't speak to one of the several computer modules.

I'll start a new thread to try and find out if folk know where the B&M module is in a RHD 63 TA 4x4?

Was that on a FIAT Panda third generation?

Hi Mads; 2013 model 312 type, hope this helps? There are several threads n here all looking at various dashboard warnings, I hesitate (as I was given short shrift by a fellow poster on another thread) to again suggest that a lot are due to voltage issues and voltage controller but my experience is that this is the case.

CANBus systems have multiple connectivity across the cars system and I suspect a fault in one system then influences behaviors in the rest.
