I've now put petrol in the car twice ('14 4x4 Twin Air). Both times, on restart the generic yellow warning light pops up on the dash.

First time I thought it was maybe I'd left the boot open but having done it again I'm not sure and filling up seems to be the trigger. In both cases, drive a few miles, turn off, restart, all good again.

Any ideas?

Great shout. That'll be it. I didn't have it dripping out of the top but I definitely did a couple of clicks. I'll be more circumspect next time.

Probably trying to tell you the tank breather, or the expansion system that prevents petrol vapours escaping (the ‘evap’ system) is unhappy — affected by overfilling. If old enough, or has been done often enough, the ‘evap canister’, a charcoal-filled air filter on the fuel tank plumbing, can be damaged.

By the way, if the boot was open, it would show the red ‘door open’ light, not the yellow triangle. But, the triangle will show if a bulb’s gone - such as the number plate light.
