out at work today and the bin lorries were out collecting.
the bins in the area are large street mounted ones which are picked up on the side of the trucks and tip in. the roads are narrow speed bumped roads so when the bin lorry is there cars just have wait a few minutes.

now as the bin lorry picks up the 1st bin a punto roars up his ass and sounds his horn.i look to the bin driver and give a shake of my head towards the punto driver and he gives me a nod off agreement.
the lorry moves to the next bin(theres only 2 on the street)and as the lorry stops again the punto drivers on the horn again! now the bin driver is the better man as if i was in that lorry i would have been out of the cab by now.

now as the lorry finishes the 2nd bin he immediatly swings the lorry across the road to let the punto past and the punto driver gives him the w*nker sign.

i mean WTF,the guys just doing his job. incidently the side streets are all joined so he could have turned and went down one of the others.

had i been that lorry driver i would have been out and up to the punto drivers window:eek: is it me or was the lorry driver mr chilled

When people beep me when I'm waiting as there is nowhere to drive or to move, I look in the mirror, make eye contact... then slip it in neutral and pull the hand brake and take my sweet time. when i do start moving and its usually on humped back streets.. its 5mph all the way.

At least your are getting your bins done, our binmen havent been for 2 weeks

Are they on continental shifts now? 2 weeks on 2 weeks off??:bang:

Well If mr bin man driver wanted to and give him that lovely warm feeling im sure he could have just let off the hand brake and let the 8+ton tank roll towards him just to slighty scare the livin **** out of him!.
Mind you i dont tend to mess with bigger stuff like lorrys etc cos itll hurt u more than them plus it aint theirs so they wont care.
To **** them off just laugh at um!:)

I also think the lorry driver was cool  When i was younger I worked for allied steel and you needed to be able to look after your self or people would walk over you. One such case was the charge hand [under foreman] in our work shop who stupidly thought he could pick on me daily until one day he found out he couldn't :p I was in the process of lifting a 20" sq piece of 6" thick steel plate from one trestle to another when he decided to have a go SMACK that was the sound of my fist in his now not so smug face and although I nearly lost my job over the incident it was a warning to others to DONT TAKE THE **** as I got older i have cooled down some what but Beware DONT TAKE THE **** :) :p My weekend work sheet was 50 Items long on my first night shift WELL I WONDER WHY.

The lorry driver must have been a very patient man but he is probably used to it and see's the same thing everyday. I think if i was in his position i would have probably ignored the beeping but don't think i could have ignored the :tosser: sign as he drove off, i would have grabbed the nearest thing to hand, jumped out and threw it at his car.

PS- Bloody punto drivers  ;)

Lol i'd prob not have done anything  i hate confrontational situations

doesnt quite deserve a new thread and this is kinda on sorta same subject lol, Got beeped at and flashed at today by some car, was really quite funny, long straight car comes round corner at end of it, but this mondeo in front of me is doing 40 (in a nat limit road) loads of space so i put my foot down to go past, get beeping off him and he slams on brakes and into kerb  whilst flashing lights at me, go past and 10 seconds later i pass the other car who's driver was pissing himself at the other car lol :D was quite funny really

The way things are in industry nowadays you wouldn't have been so lucky. Chances are you'd have been sacked on the spot and escorted off site.
