Doing something to a car to use your breakdown?

Doing something to a car to use your breakdown?

depending on the car, but if possible to disconnect a hard to reach and not too obvious sensor then try that, but if they connect it to a reader then it will probably show up.

pretty sure they'd class it as fraud though. so if you get caught you could be in trouble.

open a brake bleed nipple and pump the fluid out then just re-fill and bleed when you get it home.

i rekon i might just say it overheated and i don't want to drive it again just incase.

AA patrols are targeted, and to some extent paid, by the percentage of beakdowns they fix at the roadside. Whoever attends is going to want to fix it.

For loss of brake fluid with no visible leak, he'll refill and bleed it (you will have to pay for the fluid). Leaking brake fluid makes an awfull mess under the floorpan and around the leak area. When he can't find the source, or any evidence of the leak, he'll smell a rat

Same for overheating. If the coolant isn't empty, he'll pressure test the system and carry out a sniffer test for headgasket failure. If it's empty, he'll refill it (you will have to pay for the coolant) then carry out the tests. When he can't find any problem, he's likely to offer to follow you for 5-10 miles to see if the 'problem' returns. When it doesn't, he'll smell a rat.

They're not stupid and are always on the lookout for fraudulent use.

why do you need it towing home?

firstly, the only way i can get there is if i get my GF to take me, BUT i can't do that as to drive the new car back it has to be insured which means taking the insurance off the punto.

secondly, it has no tax and i have no way of taxing it.

finally, he's not sure if it's even had it's cambelt done on a 10 yr old 60k mileage car.

the AA has done me over a couple of times and it would be good to use them to my advantage.

even if i said the oil light came on a few times or it over heated 3 times lol?

so if the AA ask you how you drove there with no tax?

and why does it concern them, i realise there's a chance they'd see it, i just can't understand why it has anything to do with them?

Well they are going to be working/fixing on an untaxed car

Untaxed car usually = no insurance = shouldnt be on road being driven, its not hard to make a phonecall to relevent people, just like members of the public do to cars they think are dodgy littered all over the place, it has nothing to do with them but it doesnt stop them helping the relevent authorities

Not been looking at AA terms better things to do with my time and it looks like you are sorted anyway one way or another

i know where you're coming from, but for the chance of getting a bloke that can actually be bothered or care enough to start calling people to check if it's insured or taxed it was worth the chance. got a lend of a mates car trailer now, still not sure if the cars what i want, will have to have a think.

thats they way i wouldve gone r.e. a trailer

Im sure they do care and im sure if they suspect anything im sure they do get in touch with people, if we have any aa men/women on here who can confirm what they do that would be great

i wouldnt want that on my conscience knowing id repaired a clearly visible untaxed car that i knew about but didnt tell anyone then discovered it had wiped a family out down the road
