This operation may be simplified with the front of car raised @30cm / 1 foot
Open car bonnet, disconnect wiring plug to fan
undo the 4 x 7mm hex head self-tapper screws that hold the frame to the Rad.
( at the extremes of the "spider-legs")
remove fan assembly from engine compartment

removing dead FIAT fan unit
the FIAT fan unit is retained with 3 x rivets,
I drilled out the head of these
then unit should be loose in the housing, and can be removed.

Install new fan unit
I used the fitting kit that came with the new unit, and some existing holes in the FIAT shroud to mount the outer edge of the new fan unit into the FIAT shroud

The wiring
I was not particularly prepared for this stage, so I snipped the original FIAT wiring around the mid-point,
removed the bullet connectors from the new unit, and just twisted the cables in a temporary termination - just loosely - as I wasn't sure if the fan would run in the correct direction..
I wrapped in insulation tape , and thought it was good enough for a test

I then mounted the unit back in the engine bay, the physical mounts are unchanged- so goes back in exactly as removed.
