Car bomb
Car Bomb:
This is one of the more popular methods people seem to opt for, either when purchasing the car, or getting a ‘professional’ to carry out for them after purchase.
The term ‘Bomb’ or ‘Fogger’ refers to an aerosol based mechanism that is left to slowly release its magical contents in a sealed car, leaving an odour neutralising ‘film’ on all surfaces. And then after 24hr the car is vacuumed and cleaned to remove the film left by the aerosol, leaving the car smelling fresh!
Firstly I noticed the car smelt better, but not cured of its smokey ways yet! There wasn’t a strong over powering smell either to mask it up, but more of a lightly freshened smell.
After realising the car could possibly be saved I agreed to the purchase if they repeated the process before I collected (along with a few extrasJ).
Round two – smell seemed to be almost gone, I could smell smoke still, but this time very slight (or so I thought) and so off I drove!
Car Bomb Rating: 6 – seemed to work well, but not total removal of smell.
Cost: (around £15* bought individually)
So after reading a few articles and guides online (mainly American) there seemed to be a wide range of tactics and products available to tackle the smells of smoke.
