Ok so I've been asked to make a guide, bear with me as I’m usually useless at explaining things!

I don’t have blue & me in my car and was getting fed up with having a wire hanging about for the AUX input, so I pinched an idea from my wife’s Corsa.

I bought 2 adapters on eBay one to go from the HU which split into red and white cables. (You may need to adjust the order the cables are in at the end of the adaptor)

And then one which plugged into these with an input on the end.

Installing Input

I began by removing the part by the gear stick and handbrake (not sure what it’s called!)

First of all remove the bit surrounding the handbrake (give it a squeeze and it should just pop out)

Then remove the leather bit around the gear stick (again it just pops out) if you look in the area where the gear stick is you should see a wire for the cigarette lighter, this just pops out at the bottom.

Remove all the nuts securing the tray bit in place (there is a couple in the foot wells!)

Remove the tray, flip it over and drill through! (I used a 7mm drill bit but check with the size of your input) dab some super glue around the base of the tray where your hole is and pop the input lead into place.

Now put the tray back into place. Don’t forget to leave the red/white leads hanging in the passenger foot well, this'll allow you to easily connect and disconnect.

Installing Aux on HU

Now remove your head unit and clip the adapter into it. I had to shuffle the wires about and cut a bit of the plastic off of the adapter. use this guide to find out the order the connections should go in https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-guides/127299-generic-mp3-input-active-hu.html (you can buy ones on eBay that are the exact fit but they cost around £13 where as doing it this way cost me £3)

Pop the HU back into place; again make sure to hang the red/white cables down the passenger side.

Connect the two cables together; pop the bit of plastic in the passenger foot well back on and Viola! You’re all done!

Now I have an easy aux input in which I can add and remove a phono cable and not have it hanging all over the place all the time!

To make the most of it, if you have a Smartphone or iPod buy an air vent holder off of eBay and download spotify! Now you have an endless library of music in your car.
