I'm trying out some new looks to things on the forum, however most peoples browsers seem to cache the images, so if something looks a bit odd now, do a full refresh (the old CTRL+F5) again...

Going to keep working on new designs until the perfect one is found, so please feel free to add...

As a lot of you seem to have problems uploading large files, an email gateway has been added to the gallery section.

The rules for classifieds ads have now changed due to a new system in place, as follows:

Everytime an advert is posted to the classifieds section, an "announcement" thread is made in a (hidden) classifieds forum (the thread is a copy of the title + description).

Fixed the problem where if you forgot the WWW infront of FF.com, it didn't log you in (even if you had ticked Remember Me).

This was due to cookies not registering to a specific domain (as we used to use more than one, so didn't want it tied down) - however now all domains are merged, it made...

 

Finally got around to installing the mobile phone galleries which means you can now mail in photos direct from your cell

Go to the gallery, then "Mobile Phone Galleries" where you can then setup your phone's email address (you obviously need to register an address so it knows who is who)...

 

Well that's 2 great things that have happened today, we've now broken the 500k post barrier, seems fitting that the upgrade also happened at the same time... hurrah!

Without starting a complete spam fest, I wonder how long it will take to get to a million .... :chin:

It's the news we have all been waiting for, finally the new version of vB is out and we can look at upgrading the forum.

It's not completely hunky dory yet as we still need to wait for current in use mods to be updated before the upgrade can go ahead (which isn't actually much - the main one...

 

The recommended sites forum has been closed and replaced with the links manager (which wasn't used enough).

However you can now post messages against links, so discussions about sites can still go on

This will hopefully encourage you guys to build the manager as big and as useful as...

 

New version of the Gallery software installed, which promises loads extra... not sure what, but feel free to look around

Pictures locations have changed though, I've auto updated the forum links, however if you have linked to any images on external sites that have "-med.jpg" in the...

I finally found the license key, lol... so have reinstalled the chat server (running from the FF server this time, instead of my home computer )

I can't imagine it will get loads and loads of use, but it's now there if you need it.

The classifieds software has now been updated to the latest one, which means its a bit more stable etc etc... however the great new feature added is the Postcode Distancing!

Now when you place an ad, you put in your postcode (the first half), people browsing your ads are then able to put in...

At about 2am this morning (well, now I guess) the FIATForum site was moved from it's previous host to a new dedicated server. Hopefully, you should now all notice a speed increase, and the SQL errors should no longer occur.

Infact, everything is now great, so look forward to some exciting...

Ok, its just a gimmic, but if you go into your user profile and set your country, you will now get a nice flag under your name

Will also look at putting all the possible FIATs in the list too, so we can quickly see who has what...

 

Updated the classified software, which now allows you to set an auction for your item - should be interesting, we'll see how it goes.

Also, people if you do sell something, please don't delete the ad, but click the SOLD IT! link next to it....
