Hi, I have a Mk1 1987 manual Ducato camper 2.5td and I found the selector inhibitor pin in the gearbox oil (not good I suspect). I did not find any springs or other stuff. So my question is - has any one got a diagram of how this goes back in the box? All gears select OK and even 2 at the same time and it is now safely back in neutral.

Well the Russek manuals don't seem to be available now. It is manual 5speed. All I need to know is does anything else go into the hole at the back of the box or is it just the pin? Do I really have to take the box out and strip it to find out how the inhibitor works. Anyone?

Well, the gearbox is out and stripped. The 2 pins sit either side of the 3/4th gear selector shaft with 2 notches that push them out to both sides thus locking the shafts next to it. The 1/2nd and 5/rev shafts only lock the 3/4th shaft in place. I can only find 1 so has anyone got a spare?

Get a part number from the forums ePER

Then see who has one..

Or post a dimesioned photo on here..

It might be easily replicated..

But I do wonder how it has 'lost' one..

Part Nos 7633066 x 1 , 82310157 x 2. It is really easy to over extend the 5th/rev selector shaft while replacing the 5th synchro and that will allow it to drop into the void below the shaft. I am going to drop the diff to check it has not migrated there as that is where the void goes.

i think they are austenitic steel so that won't work. Also if you do not retrieve the item do you assume it's not there. Absence of evidence does not mean evidence of absence. They only way to make sure is Mk1 eyeball.
