my cinq makes a kind of grinding/rattling noise from about the gearbox area maybe more towards the front of the car, from reading some of the other topics here i thought it was the engine mounting but i have shaken the engine to see if it moves at all and it does not, trying to sell car and wanting it sorted before any1 comes to view my car
any ideas?

Probably the rear mount, the zorst will drop onto the anti roll bar at times if this happens and it sounds bloody awful, like the gearbox is trashed.

Could be rear gaerbox mount, under passenger footwell, inspection on a ramp and poke with a big screwdriver should diagnose it. Does it sound worse when beginning reversing?

If it is this the Desira can supply you with 1 for £13 odd quid and it's called an elastic pad for some strange reason, don't think it would be too difficult to change yourself.
