When i floor my cinq in a high gear at a low rev, I get a weird clicking noise coming from the engine. it isnt there when you just lightly press the pedal or when you floor it at a high rev, only when you put ur foot down in say, 4th at 30 or 5th at 40 and then when the engine gets upto speed the clicking noise goes away. Ive only noticed the noise since ive put my sportex back box on but its definatly coming from the engine and not the zorst.

anyone any ideas?

is this pinking that you are hearing?as in detonation at high load or is it a more mechanical noise?

have you checked the engine/transmission mounts?give the engine a good shake(switched off) and listen for clonks

well its only when u floor the engine at a low rev so its worrying me a little. ill give that a go though

Sounds like pinking, I've got it on my 899cc Sei, due to ignition problems. My plugs don't work properly, the sparks jump from the HT lead connector to the metal (thread) part of the plug instead of through the centre. My leads and plugs are new, any ideas how I can solve the problem [?]

I had the same problem before replacing my leads and plugs, I've got Champion EON 6's and Bosch leads at the moment. The plug gap is 0.8mm.

well ive just had a listen agaiun and its more a rattle than anything else. the car doesnt loose power when its making the noise...

Maybe it's the Cat heat shield [?]

quit possible actually seen as i was banging it around when i was putting the zorst on. ill check it and see if it could be knocking

right.. checked it and given the zorst a good shake to see if its knocking and it doesnt seem to be knocking anything but the noise is still there!

I changed my sparks yesterday too... they are oily and a bit crappy but there are brand new ones in now.

any other ideas?
