Engine block heater do you use it?

This morning it didn't start, granted it is super cold out, does anyone use their engine block heater and if so does it help? I have already had the tranny in for a repair (car is at 2400KM) and sensing this car may be a wee high-maintenance in the winter...

Re: Engine block heater do you use it?

I try to use the block heater on the colder nights here in Ottawa. The plug rests nicely i front of my left headlight (sarcasm).
Tranny lights/check engine seem to be a too common theme with this car. Mine is having it's Transmission Module replaced tomorrow, 12,000km (started at 6,000). Let's see how that works out.
I can't see the block heater helping the tranny issues.
Let's hope this isn't a fair-weather car, living in Canada and all.

when you say 'tranny' do you mean transmission/gearbox because 'tranny' has a very different meaning in the UK!

is your 'tranny' a dualogic?
