so after getting cold feet on running a 5 year old 500 (due to not being able to find one that worked locally) I have opted for a 17 plate 1.2s, reasoning that over 3-4 years on pcp it should cost about the same as buying outright, plus I have the benefit of a couple of year warranty.

so far quite pleased, typical italian electrics - one of the heater control backlight bulbs didnt work - but now does - with no input from me!

the radio reception seems a bit flaky - DAB doesnt really work, but that might be a local issue and FM a bit patchy

looking forward to filling up, to see how little my weekly commute has cost (coming from a 3.0l subaru!)

might post a pic once I have seen it in daylight!

Patchy Radio reception? Probably the ariel base is faulty. I've Changed loads under warranty so i suggest you take it back to your dealer.

I'd imagine the cost would be downr a lot

I expect that the fuel savings will offset the finance cost, plus its cheaper to insure whilst my daughter is learning (and as a new driver) and the warranty should protect me from unexpected bills

Pic please? I reckon that engine won't give its best power or mpg for at least 10k miles.

45mpg currently (compared to 25!) still getting used to planning overtaking on the dual carriage way rather than just wooshing past things with a flick of the gas pedal.
I think I have the whole 69bhp as the car is 9 months old and has a few thousand under its belt.

radio reception has improved slightly since making sure the aerial was tight and also de-selecting the regional setting on the tuner. still hopeless with DAB though - which is a pity, I was hoping to catch up with radcliffe and maconie
