We have just got our twin air 500 so are new to them.
The start stop system stops fine and starts fine when pressing the clutch, how ever I have noticed that if it's left off for say 30 seconds - 1 minute then the engine starts back up again by itself without touching the clutch.
Is this normal? Is there a timer somewhere? Or is it due to the engine cooling down so it starts as it wouldn't work with the engine colder?
Can't imagine the engine cooling much in that little time though.
Could anyone with one of these explain please?

AFAIK The limit is 3 Mins after which it starts back up

If its starting earlier than that then there is another trip, trying to warm up the cabin in cold weather or electrical drain etc.

Best way to check is when engine is at operating temp, and fans on low or off no lights on etc see if it can achieve the full 3mins before it restarts.

Look at the stop start thread ( near the end) sounds like you have the common TA SS restart problem, my 2012 TA is booked in for three days for the third time next week while the dealership try to fix once and for all.

Judging by comments on here TA seem have an issue, what your car is doing is not what the system is supposed to do.

There are times when I want SS and there are times when I don't want SS!

Pros: cheaper on gas

Cons: more things can go wrong, battery more expensive (you can save this by saving petrol though). but if you do a lot of traffic driving is the battery ever really fully charged?
